Synopsis for "See Latveria and Die"

At Wernerstad International Airport in Latveria, Eddie Brock disembarks and passes through a security checkpoint, giving the Doombot security officer his passport, which reads "Charles Allan". Asked if he has anything to declare, Eddie says that he doesn't, but is told to submit his bag for inspection. As Eddie insists he's got nothing to declare, the Doombot -- its eyes glowing red -- says that it can tell he's lying and demands he show it what he brought to Latveria. Eddie's bag reveals itself to be the disguised Bedlam symbiote, which promptly devours the Doombot. As additional Doombots arrive, Eddie quips that they can't say he didn't warn it. The Doombots fail to parse Eddie's joke and state that by destroying one of their number he has defaced the visage of Doctor Doom -- a capital offence in Latveria. Stating his real name, Eddie smirks and says that he and Doom go back a ways. Identifying him as a known enemy of their master, the Doombots attack Eddie with bolts of electricity in an attempt to summarily execute him, but he simply restarts his heart. As the Doombots reconfigure their arms into rotary cannons, Bedlam complains that Eddie is hogging all the enemies to himself and that it's getting bored. Tagging Bedlam in, Eddie bonds to his symbiote-indwelling temporal offshoot and transforms into a bulky four-armed humanoid resembling a cross between his original King in Black form and the Warstar symbiote's. Ripping two of the Doombots apart, Eddie tells them to take him to Doom or he'll unleash Bedlam's wrath upon them.

Several hours later, Doombot 7 reports to Doctor Doom at Castle Doom's dining hall, filling him in on the altercation at the airport. As Doombot 7 says that Eddie escaped, Doom reprimands it for failing him, saying he put it in charge of that sector. Doombot 7 states that -- as a Doombot -- it wears its maker's visage, speaks in his voice, and carries out his will; and that Doom cannot fail, only be failed. Insisting the fault lies with the Doombots under its command, Doombot 7 says their programming must have been faulty and that it naturally had them terminated for unbecoming conduct. Doom concurs with this, but adds that -- as Doom cannot fail -- he has a final question, asking if Doombot 7 knows of Eddie's current whereabouts. Cutting off Doombot 7's stammered attempt to reply, Doom snaps that if killing or capturing an enemy of the state cannot be done, keeping them under strict surveillance takes top priority, and that what Doombot 7 should have done is keep at least one of its subordinates to track Eddie's whereabouts from a safe distance. Admitting it failed him and is thus unworthy, Doombot 7 kills itself. Glancing over his shoulder at a knock at the door, Doom tells his uninvited guest to enter and Eddie smashes through the door. Unfazed, Doom greets Eddie and invites him to have a seat and help himself to the feast. Wary of a trap, Eddie says that he and his symbiote could eat, retracting Bedlam and taking the chair at Doom's left. Pleased, Doom says that his magnanimity is a rare gift but that his robot doppelgängers and doors are easily rebuilt; and that despite their previous enmity he'd rather have Eddie as a guest than an intruder. Surprised, Eddie asks why Doom is being so uncharacteristically nice, and Doom says that when they last crossed paths Eddie was nothing more than a particularly ugly American but now he -- like Doom -- is a king, and furthermore came by that title not by unearned inheritance but by cunning and determination in a battle for his life. Helping himself to a chicken leg, Eddie thanks Doom for the meal but expresses that given their last altercation was over one symbiote and -- given that he now controls all symbiotes -- he'd be foolish not to suspect that Doom has an ulterior motive. Doom agrees and says that Eddie is right to be concerned, but that they needn't be adversaries given that Eddie travelling to Latveria means that he has things Eddie covets. Eddie concurs, revealing that he can time travel. Intrigued, Doom notes that most of those who claim to be time travellers can only manage a convoluted form of dimensional travel, travelling to an earlier temporal point in parallel universe in an attempt to alter the past only to return to their native timeline to discover nothing has changed; which Doom scoffs is a form of time travel in the same way an Easy-Bake Oven is a form of cooking. As Doom boasts that would know as he also happens to be an expert chef whose cooking is the stuff of legend, Eddie says that he can time-travel, but only by projecting his consciousness through time -- which he theorizes precludes him making changes, only be the cause things that have already happened. Saying that in order to break free of his destiny he needs to bring his body along for the ride, Eddie requests access to Doom's time machine. Doom immediately refuses, comparing giving Eddie access to his Time Platform to giving a loaded firearm to a child; and sarcastically calling Eddie a violent maniac last seen wearing a "Himbo Frankenstein" T-shirt with all the respect one king owes another. Eddie notes he kind of liked that shirt and asks if Doom knows whether "Himbo Frankenstein" is a band, but Doom refuses to be sidetracked and says he will give Eddie one chance to leave Latveria and return to his son, who doubtless misses him. Angered, Eddie says that he can't do that yet, and that unless his destiny is broken Dylan will be in mortal peril. Doom asks if Eddie wants to finish his meal like a civilized man before they fight, but Eddie upends the table, transforms, and bashes Doom upside the head with it. Unfazed, Doom wryly scolds Eddie for wasting good food, a lesson his mother taught him... among other things. Casting a spell, Doom summons the Awful Arm of Azathoth, which bursts through the floor and drags Eddie down into one of Castle Doom's library. Boasting that this particular library contains such childish examples of the mystic arts as maps of the various Hells, esoteric texts, and summoning rituals. Awkwardly retorting that he read crime novels as a kid, Eddie tells an unimpressed Doom that he can't do magic, but he does know that if you want to torture someone you start with the fingers. Breaking several of Azathoth's fingers, Eddie escapes the conjured arm's grasp, begrudgingly impressing Doom. Saying that Eddie's made for a fine distraction from an otherwise weary afternoon, Doom says that Eddie has outstayed his welcome and blasts him with beams of green energy. Narrowly evading, Eddie says he'll find his own way out and smashes through a nearby wall into one of Doom's labs, saying his intuition proved correct. Stepping through the hole, Doom warns Eddie that his patience is wearing thin; Eddie quipping that that just means that he's winning. Spotting a Time Platform, Eddie web-swings towards it, but Doom angrily blasts him from behind with a beam of energy that punches through Eddie's body. As Eddie regenerates, Doom furiously snaps that all that remains of his hospitality is a quick and mostly-painless death, saying that Eddie should've finished his meal. Bedlam replies that while Eddie isn't hungry it is, separating from Eddie and attempting to devour Doom. As Eddie tries to figure out how to work the time platform, Doom furiously blasts Bedlam off himself and advances towards Eddie and mockingly asks if he honestly thinks he could figure out how to work such a sophisticated piece of technology. As Doom prepares to blast him, Eddie says that he can crash it and smashes the control panel. The time platform activates and malfunctions, a horrified Doom demanding to know what Eddie has done as he, Eddie, and Bedlam are warped through time.
