Taisho Secrets

Taisho Secrets ( (たい) (しょう) コソコソ (うわさ) (ばなし) Taishō Kosokoso Uwasabanashi?) are fun facts or comedic rumors related to their respective episode of the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime, interestingly while also breaking the fourth wall and addressing the audience directly. They appear at the end of almost every episode after a short, cute/comedic scene with the episode's primary characters. After the secret, the next episode is named and previewed.

4 Tanjiro states that it is rumored Zenitsu Agatsuma came to the Final Selection because his master slapped him when he refused to attend.

6 Tanjiro states that the Swamp Demon intensely grinded his teeth as a human as well.
7 Tanjiro states that the udon stand owner from this episode was born and raised in Asakusa. He continues to make udon in Asakusa because he loves it so much.
8 Tanjiro reveals that Yushiro's hobby is to write in his "Lady Tamayo journal" and writes 7-10 pages daily. Following this, he opens the journal and reads two entries, both hinting at Yushiro's obsession for Tamayo. He becomes disturbed enough to stop.
9 Tanjiro states that on the night Susamaru and Yahaba went to attack Tamayo's house, it was the first time the two had met and they befriended each other by chatting on their way there.
10 Tanjiro states that all the Kasugai Crows have names and that his crow is named Matsuemon Tennouji.

15 Chuntaro states that his real name is Ukogi because ukogi rice is his favorite food, but Zenitsu only feeds him beans.
16 Tanjiro states that Inosuke can call someone by their correct name about once every seven times.
17 No Secret; The Taisho Secret section is switched out for the final episode of Kimetsu Academy Story: Special Edition. Zenitsu is left in charge of checking the student's dress code in the front of the school gate. However, he is really checking out female students until his teacher, Giyu, catches him.
18 Inosuke reveals that Tanjiro's favorite rice ball flavor is plum seaweed while Zenitsu prefers salmon.
19 Tanjiro states that after every festival, his father and mother would always toast rice crackers for him and his siblings.
20 Shinobu mentions that she formulates her poison inside her scabbard, and no one knows how it's done but herself and her swordsmith.
21 Giyu points out that Shinobu can’t stand cats, dogs, and pretty much any animal with fur, although she denies it.

28 Tanjiro reveals that Kyojuro does not have any Tsuguko training under him due to his training's rough nature, causing everyone who tries to train under him to run away.
29 No Secret; Tanjuro congratulating his son Tanjiro for him snapping back to reality along with him keeping his mindset to help others and Nezuko.

31 No Secret; Tanjiro is shown in a dream that features an enormous and incredibly swole, cleft-chinned Nezuko telling him that she will protect him. Horrified, Tanjiro wakes up and sees real Nezuko without her bamboo muzzle, and then expresses relief that Nezuko in her cute form.
32 No Secret; Tanjiro and Inosuke are shown calling out to a battered and bruised Kyojuro facing away from the two. Then, the name of the next (and last episode in the arc) is revealed.

34 Introduction of Entertainment District Arc section of Season 2; Tengen reveals that he was born as a shinobi who lived an unflashy life as a kid and turned more flashy later on in life after his built up resentment "exploded", prompting disbelief from the others before he stresses that he's telling the truth. Tengen asks the four to give their best effort and Tanjiro believes he can trust Tengen.
35 Tanjiro reveals that Zenitsu has exceptional shamisen-playing talent, and he has strived to get better at playing in spite of himself.
36 No Secret; the ending scene is instead a short of Kimetsu Academy Story: Christmas Edition. Zenitsu has invited Nezuko to a Christmas party and plans to get closer to her. However, his plans fail when Nezuko brings along Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Giyu as well, all in strange outfits, much to his anger.
37 Tengen reveals that he only chooses the most dedicated mice to train as Muscular Mice, while also stating that being narcissistic enough to fall in love with their own muscles and a flair for flash is also a requirement.
38 Tanjiro reveals that Uzui's family practices polygamy, as when a member of the family turns 15, the head of the family picks out three wives who they deem to be compatible. However, it is said that Suma volunteered herself.
39 No Secret; the ending scene is instead a skit of Inosuke and Zenitsu running along the rooftops catching up to Tengen while going to save Tanjiro. Zenitsu appears to be running while sleeping while Inosuke questions this. Tengen appears beside them while announcing there is no time left for a secret this time around.
40 Tanjiro praises Nezuko for never being unreasonable. He reveals that, even when their grandmother and father died, she would tell the rest of her family to let their feelings out for one day and then to stay strong in order to honor their family's deaths.
41 No Secret; in a flashback, Kyojuro Rengoku compliments Tengen's sword skills but says that he has too many wives. He apprises Tengen to look after Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.
42 No Secret; Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Tanjiro use their respective Breathing Techniques, before Tanjiro stands alone, repeating "Don't give up!"
43 Tanjiro is injured and hyperventilating after just defeating Gyutaro and Daki. Nezuko asks if Tanjiro is alright, telling him to live. She then suddenly reveals that Tanjiro got his rock-hard head from their mother. She heard that their mother once scared away a boar (interpreted by Inosuke) by head-butting it.

45 Kanao, Sumi, Kiyo and Naho expresses happiness that Tanjiro is awake, who thanks them for their concern. Aoi asks them how long they think Inosuke was stuck onto the ceiling; Kanao remembers how long she was in Tanjiro’s room for and Aoi deduces that he would have there for over an hour, berating his recklessness. Inosuke exclaims they are all wrong and leaps from the ceiling, explaining that he had hung their since yesterday calling to Tanjiro throughout the day. As Aoi questions why he did so, Kiyo notes that Tanjiro would have had no choice but wake up; Inosuke claims being sick is only in the mind. Tanjiro thanks him and after gives the next episode’s title, he tells them he will give his all in the Swordsmith Village.
46 Tanjiro and Nezuko wear Hyottoko masks; enjoying hers, Nezuko begins to dance. Tanjiro reveals that Kotetsu’s actual face is so similar to his mask, it has been suggested that he might not need to wear it at all. Additionally, while he is “mercilessly blunt”, Tanjiro believes him to be a sweet child at heart. As he begins to feel hot, he hears Kotetsu calling for him to continue their training, believing that persistence is key; unwilling to go through with it, Tanjiro and Nezuko run away.
47 Kotetsu asks Tanjiro if he is alright after a demon appeared while Hotaru was polishing his blade. Tanjiro reassures him as he shows the spare katana he was given, though he adds that Hotaru remains the same as ever, which Kotetsu agrees with. He reveals that Hotaru has wind chimes on his umbrella because he loves them, and as a child, he would only calm down from a tantrum when he heard the grownups ringing them. Kotetsu presents Tanjiro with his own chime when they hear Hotaru, who angrily denies that he will soothed now, leading the two to quickly ring their chimes to calm him down.
48 No Secret. The segment is replaced with a Kimetsu Academy Story. Mitsuri introduces herself; a 19 year old Kimetsu Academy graduate, now college art major, she dreams of bringing joy to people around the world with her art. Painting while talking to her stuffed cat, Big Hand Cat, she wonders when she will meet someone to make her happy. The cat claims that no one will love her with her hair color, voracious appetite, and absurd strength. Mitsuri laments this when Big Hand Cat suggests that painting is what she can do in life; she agrees and begins painting again with renewed passion. Unbeknownst to Mitsuri, she is actually admired by many.
49 No Secret. Tanjiro asks Mitsuri to show how she sheathes her blade, but her weak attempts to sound threaten leaving them mystified. She demonstrates that she twirls her blade to fold it into her scabbard, leaving Tanjiro and Nezuko impressed. Mitsuri asks if they really think so and Tanjiro excitedly confirms it. Much to the sibling’s happiness, she gives another demonstration, before presenting the next episode’s title.
50 No Secret. Tanjiro talks to Genya about him not eating, even since they met in the Butterfly Mansion. Recalling Aoi, Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho speaking on the issue, Genya bemoans Tanjiro acting familiar with him, which he states is due to them being friends. Genya denies this but Tanjiro brings up the time they were at the hot springs; he notes that he had barged in when Tanjiro also mentions they’re in the same Final Selection, making them friends. Genya explains this is why he is annoying when Tanjiro stops him to give the next episode’s title, before confirming they are good friends, to his annoyance.
51 Hotaru performs sits up in the day, does them in reverse as the sun sets, and climbs a cliff with a 30kg weight at night. Kotetsu realizes this is what he has been doing in secret but questions why to such an extent. While doing two-fingered handstand pushups, Hotaru explains that since the swordsman puts his life into his blade, the smith should carry the burden as he puts his life into his work. Kotetsu reveals the knives Hotaru used to chase Tanjiro are his own make, but are so sharp, he is afraid to use them in the kitchen. As he mocks them for being pointless, Hotaru begins chasing him with said knives as he gives the next episode’s title.
52 Tanjiro and Nezuko greet Mitsuri on her birthday, before revealing Kozo, Kotetsu, and Tecchin’s representative have come to present an all-you-can-eat buffet for her. Mitsuri is excited to eat everything, shocking the siblings that she still wants seconds and causing the swordsmith to regret mentioning it was “all-you-can-eat”. Tanjiro reveals her favorite foods nowadays are pork cutlets and omurice as they are modern and fashionable Western-style foods; thus, they made them for her. She asks if she can eat, but no soon after this, she is finished and asks for more, leaving everyone stunned.
53 No Secret. Inosuke and Zenitsu look at the camera, the latter asking when will their turn be. Inosuke is confused by where he is and asks where the enemy has gone, causing Zenitsu to groan that their turn is not coming yet. He sighs and notes that they will take their next missions, before giving the next episode’s title. Inosuke makes Tanjiro promise he will defeat Zohakuten as he pushes his face to the camera.
54 Tanjiro thanks Mitsuri for rescuing him, Nezuko, and Genya, before vowing on everyone’s behalf to defeat Hantengu. He reveals that Mitsuri’s hair and eye color is a result of eating 170 sakura mochis every day for eight months. Muichiro appears and expresses doubt she did so, despite Tanjiro’s vote of confidence; he begins to explain his reasoning when he is interrupted by Mitsuri placing a mochi in his mouth. She presents her plate to Tanjiro, who gladly takes one.
55 No Secret. After the episode ends, credits featuring the producers of the arc roll and Season 3 concludes. N/A
56 Tanjiro announces that for the Hashira Training Arc, he will give a fact about the Hashira each week. He then hears Shinobu scolding Inosuke about the broken window, but afterwards, she tells him that while being positive is a good part about him, there’s things he shouldn’t do, before treating his cut, leaving Inosuke shocked. As Tanjiro notes her strict but compassionate personality, he mentions that during the Hashira Meeting, she gave the embarrassed Mitsuri a handkerchief.
57 Before Tanjiro can talk about Giyu, he appears and mentions he can no longer eat soba, and Tanjiro concurs. He reveals that the Hashira's haori design consists of both Sabito’s and his sister Tsutako’s, the memento showing he is compassionate after all. Giyu invites Tanjiro to eat simmered salmon with daikon, but that it won’t be a race, which he happily agrees to.
58 Tanjiro prepares to talk about Tengen when he appears, noting that while he is retired, he should introduce him in a flashy way regardless. He reveals that Tengen’s hobby is looking for secret hot springs, mentioning he healed his wounds from his battle in one. Tengen notes his bland tone and asks he at least mention his “three amazing wives” because he loves them so; Suma, Makio, and Hinatsuru appear and swoon over him talking about them, causing Tanjiro to remark that they are a lovely family.
59 Tanjiro presents with Muichiro, who is excited to hear about things he had forgotten. He reveals that even before joining the Corps, he had nerves of steel and was able to sleep through thunderstorms and lightning. Muichiro notes that it makes him sound insensitive, as Tanjiro adds that nothing seems to make him lose his appetite; he reveals he is glad to have a similar personality to his brother when he lost his memories, as it was as if his brother was still watching him.
60 Tanjiro prepares to talk about Obanai when he interrupts, believing he is making a pass at Mitsuri; he denies this and the Serpent Hashira eases up. Tanjiro explains that the snake always with him is named Kaburamaru, and his eyes have been different colors since birth. Seeing he is done, Obanai orders him to leave and avoid Mitsuri, but when Tanjiro speaks up, he angrily questions if he is trying to approach her as Kabumaru hisses, causing Tanjiro to run in fear.
61 Tanjiro is about to talk about Gyomei when he sees the Stone Hashira listening to a mother and her child holding hands, causing him to remark about the innocent scene. Tanjiro reveals that Gyomei is very emotional and tearful, even crying for something as minor as litter on the ground. Suddenly, he hears Gyomei crying as he admires a cat he is hugging, much to Tanjiro’s bemusement.
62 Tanjiro prepares to talk about Sanemi when he appears and asks what business he has with him; when Tanjiro denies he has any, Sanemi orders him to leave and walks off. Tanjiro reveals his hobby of raising Japanese rhinoceros beetles and his favorite food being ohagi. Unfortunately, the Wind Hashira overhears this and is angered at his mention of ohagi, causing Tanjiro to run off stage as he gives chase.
63 Tanjiro introduces Mitsuri, who squeals with happiness when he compliments her. He reveals that she was Kyojuro’s Tsuguko; his training was so hard, others would run away, but she did not give up. Mitsuri mentions that Kyojuro was serious and passionate about it, and Tanjiro agrees that he would. Believing they should include him if they are to introduce every Hashira, she reveals that Kyojuro was a “cool big brother”, who not only her trainer and teacher but that he was a big eater as well; they once ate a large pot of sweet potato fried rice by themselves. As she reminisces on the memory, she and Tanjiro are shocked to hear his voice, who talks about the memory as well. As they now face Muzan, Kyojuro tells the two he is counting on them. Realizing they truly heard him, they vow to defeat the demon no matter what.
