Xbox: Publishers Are Reportedly Losing Faith in the Console Manufacturer; Nocturnal Vapor Controller Leaks Online

Xbox hasn’t been facing the best of times in the console business as it continues to lose out on the market share against the likes of the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Its exclusive games haven’t been able to manage anything record-breaking either, which increases the burden for the console manufacturer. It seems that things are going even worse for the company, as not-so-positive opinions of publishers at GDC 2024 have now started surfacing online.
Through GameIndustry.Biz’s recent microcast (via VGC) Chris Dring has revealed several intriguing details about the console manufacturer. Dring stated that Xbox could be in “real trouble as a hardware manufacturer”, as Dring was being told by popular as well small-time publishers that “Xbox’s performance in Europe is just flatlining”. Dring doubled down on this, stating that Xbox sales have been witnessed “throughout last year, and it’s falling even harder this year”.
Dring further added that one of the publishers that was responsible for releasing “a big game” in 2023 ended up stating “I don’t know why we bothered supporting it” when talking about the console manufacturer. Dring then spoke about Xbox now releasing games on the PS5 and from his understanding, “majority of them will be coming across at some point”. Dring concluded by stating that “the thing that came of GDC” for him was that “Xbox is in real trouble as a hardware manufacturer”.
Xbox Controllers Sebile and Nocturnal Vapor Leak Online
In other news, a report by Billbil-kun states two Xbox controllers will be released soon. The first controller’s codename is Sebile and its information surfaced online through FTC documents. This controller is scheduled to be released in May 2024 and will have “very price haptic feedback” just like PlayStation 5’s DualSense. The other controller is from the Vapor series and will be dubbed “Nocturnal Vapor”, this controller will reportedly release on April 9, 2024.
