Xbox Is Bringing Cloud Gaming to Amazon Fire TVs With Rumours Hinting That Nvidia GeForce Now May Come to the Console

Microsoft has just announced its partnership with Amazon to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to Fire TVs. The company highlighted that from July 2024 interested gamers can access their favourite Xbox games on their Fire TV without needing a console. However, they do need Fire TV sticks to get started. Besides this, new information spotted online hints at the arrival of Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming subscription service to Xbox consoles. Let's check out all the details around the Amazon and Microsoft partnership and the rumours around GeForce Now on Xbox here.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Now on Amazon Fire TV

Before starting, gamers need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to access cloud gaming and a high-speed internet connection. They also need a compatible Fire TV Stick and a Bluetooth game controller. Currently, gamers can only access Xbox Cloud Gaming on the 2023 versions of the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K.

Next, you need to download the Xbox app on your Fire TV, log in to your account, and start playing. This setup is a much cheaper alternative to buying an Xbox console to enjoy the games from the Game Pass Ultimate library. Unfortunately, while the Fire TV Stick 4K is available in India, the Xbox cloud gaming service is not.

The list of first-party Bluetooth controllers includes the Xbox Wireless Controller and Xbox Adaptive Controller. In addition to Xbox controllers, one can also use their PlayStation DualSense or DualSense 4 controllers.

Amazon also highlighted the portability of this setup as compared to an Xbox console. The company noted that you can easily plug out your Fire TV Stick from one TV to another. For instance, you can plug it out from your TV in the bedroom and then plug it into your TV in the living room or take it along while travelling with your controller.

Nvidia GeForce Now May Be Coming to Xbox

Coming to the rumours around GeForce Now on Xbox, we first saw it in screenshots posted by an X user (formerly Twitter) "eXtas1s". These images show various games offering the option to "Play it with GeForce Now" on the Xbox Store.

The images further suggest that “Nvidia GeForce Now subscribers will be able to stream games to their consoles from Nvidia's servers.” This obviously will only be possible if Microsoft and Nvidia have partnered. It also likely indicates that the Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming service could finally make its way to the Xbox console.

It means that gamers will have more options for cloud gaming services and the possibility of expanding cloud gaming in regions where the Xbox service is unavailable. Unfortunately, none of the services are available in India.
