Bengaluru Couple Order Xbox Controller From Amazon, Get a Live Snake With the Package

A Bengaluru couple who ordered an Xbox controller from Amazon India got a spooky and dangerous surprise when the order arrived with a live snake.

Reddit user "tanvi2002" shared their experience by posting a video on the IndiaGaming subreddit. The video showed a live snake inside the Amazon box packaging, which you can watch below:

The user then shared more details about what happened on the Bangalore subreddit. According to the details, the Amazon delivery partner directly handed the package to the couple, and it was not left unattended outside. The couple added that they recorded the entire incident and had eyewitnesses.

Refund but No Apology for the Snake in the Package

Looking into additional details regarding the incident, the snake was identified as a possible venomous Indian cobra, also known as the spectacled cobra or Asian cobra (Naja naja). Fortunately, the snake was stuck to the packaging tape and did not harm anyone. The couple shared the ordeal with Amazon India customer support, which “put us on hold for over two hours, forcing us to handle the situation ourselves in the middle of the night.”

"tanvi2002" went on to add, “We did receive a complete refund, but what do we get for risking our lives with a highly venomous snake?” The user also said, “This is clearly a safety breach caused by Amazon's negligence and poor transportation and warehousing hygiene. Where is the accountability for such a serious lapse in safety?”

Later, "tanvi2002" posted on their X (formerly Twitter) account that they had decided not to engage with any media publication. Despite coverage from several Indian news publications, the couple has not received an official apology from Amazon India.

“Dear journalists, thank you for reaching out. At this point, we have chosen not to engage in media coverage,” the user wrote. “Why publicize any further when we as victims have gained absolutely nothing from this situation, not even an official apology?” Considering this stance, IGN India could not independently verify the incident with any additional details.

The video is currently going viral on social media, with even the Bengaluru City Police reaching out on X/Twitter to ask for details about where the delivery was made.
