Xbox Games Showcase 2024 Officially Confirmed; Business Update Podcast Reportedly Delayed Nintendo Direct

Xbox has "more than 10 major releases coming up."

Xbox Games Showcase 2024 Officially Confirmed

The latest official Xbox podcast has given a much-talked-about business update to the fans, with four unnamed exclusive games going multi-platform soon. Microsoft is also planning to reveal new hardware this year, and Game Pass is set to welcome its first Activision Blizzard title, with Diablo IV arriving on March 28, 2024.

Amid all the major announcements, one detail has sort of slipped through, which is about the Xbox Summer Showcase 2024. Microsoft’s Matt Booty, president of gaming content and studios, confirmed that the Xbox Summer Showcase will take place this year in June. He also revealed that Xbox is gearing up for a big year with “more than ten major releases coming up”. Booty added that the “June showcase coming up pretty soon” will share more information about Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Avowed and other upcoming Xbox games.

Given the anticipation of this Xbox podcast, where rumours and reports had many convinced that Xbox might be announcing a radical business pivot, such as exiting the console market altogether, a new report claims that Nintendo decided to delay its Nintendo Direct presentation due to the Xbox podcast.

Nintendo Direct February 2024 Reportedly Delayed

Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grub claimed that Nintendo was reportedly hosting a Direct presentation in February 2024 but delayed it because of Microsoft’s event. Grub added that he only ever knew that the presentation would take place in the middle of February and never the exact date of this event.

Usually, Nintendo hosts a Direct presentation within the first two months of a new year, but there is still no official announcement for a Nintendo Direct yet.
