Adam Wingard (born December 3, 1982) is an American director, editor, cinematographer, and screenwriter. Wingard is well known for his foray into the horror genre, including 2011's You're Next, and 2014's The Guest. He was also involved with the production of the third Blair Witch film, and directed the live-action adaptation of Death Note. He was the director for 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong film and 2024's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

- In 2013, Peter Jackson asked Wingard to offer to be a director of a sequel to 2005 King Kong named Skull Island, written by Simon Barrett and produced by Mary Parent (producer of Godzilla vs. Kong) before the King Kong rights moved to Warner Brothers.[1]
- In an interview on a magazine in Japan, Wingard listed his "likes" include Godzilla (1954), Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Invasion of Astro-Monster, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, but his dislikes is 1998 GODZILLA.[2][3]
