Thomas "Tommy" Talltree is the youngest son of oil-rich Navajo parents and the younger brother of G.I. Joe member Franklin E. Talltree, codenamed Airborne.

Tommy was invited by the United States military science division to participate in a paranormal study to determine if claims of his telepathic talent were true. During the testing procedure involving identifying hidden cards, Tommy incorrectly guessed several cards. He shortly after concentrated harder on the cards and instead of correctly identifying the card sets, Tommy moved them off the test table with his mind. Scientists determined young Tommy instead possessed strong telekinetic abilities. This did not entirely rule out Tommy's telepathic talent, which was explained to emerge during times of extreme stress, mostly involving his brother being in danger. This occurred when his mind's eye saw Airborne in captured by Cobra during a mission. Shortly after, he was abducted by Cobra troops who were tasked with rounding up as many paranormal individuals as possible to train for a new special Cobra unit. He was later rescued by his brother along with the Joe Team. Afterwards he celebrated with his brother and the Joe's, agreeing not to answer any more requests to test his telepathic abilities.[1]
