The core Five Nights at Freddy's series is the central saga comprising all main video games created by Scott Cawthon and later Steel Wool Studios for collaboration.
The series was divided into two chronological eras: Clickteam Era and the Steel Wool Era. While Special Delivery is a spin-off, its lore is connected to the main series.

Tales from the Pizzaplex is an anthology series of young adult novels written by Scott Cawthon and various authors. It mainly focuses on the background of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, which is the setting of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. Based on many references and connections, the series' events co-exist in the main game series' continuity.

FNaF World is a separated RPG spin-off game by Scott Cawthon on 2016 and sets in its own canon. It takes place in the fantasy world with Five Nights at Freddy's 1-4 animatronic characters appearing in their child-friendly designs. However, despite the game being non-canon to the main game series' universe, some of the characters appear in the main game series' Ultimate Custom Night, such as Dee Dee and Old Man Consequences.

Freddy in Space 2 is another spin-off game created by Scott Cawthon in very late 2019 to raise charity for St. Jude's Children Hospital.
