My Sony Membership Program: We offer the My Sony Membership Program to enable our customers to earn credits or receive other special offers or benefits. To join, a customer must create or log into an existing account with us and choose to join the Program. Customers may earn My Sony Points from joining, by making eligible purchases or through other promotional opportunities. My Sony Points can be redeemed at electronics.sony.com on future purchases of eligible products and experiences. Full terms and conditions of the Program are here. As part of the Program, we collect contact information, email address, date of birth, password, and product purchase and transaction information. We use this information to administer the Program, deliver messaging about the Program and the membership status, and for internal business purposes. This and other data that we may collect when a customer enters the Program is subject to our Privacy Policy . Customers may withdraw from the Program or terminate their membership at any time by contacting our Customer Support team or clicking “Cancel Membership” within their My Sony Membership page. If a customer deletes or withdraws their Sony account, their membership will be terminated. If a membership is withdrawn or terminated, any accumulated, unused My Sony Points will no longer be available.

Other offers: From time to time, we may offer coupons, gift cards, discounts or other price reductions for our products and services, or sweepstakes entries, in exchange for your providing us with personal information to register a product and/or receive marketing emails and similar communications. These coupons, gift cards, discounts or other offers may be considered to be “financial incentives” under applicable law. To opt-in and/or receive these financial incentives, you will be asked to provide personal information (such as email address) through an online form or similar means.

When you choose to opt-in to a financial incentive, we use the information you provide to send you marketing emails, special offers and other advertising, and the information may be shared with our email providers and advertising partners. You may opt-out of email marketing at any time by unsubscribing from marketing emails using the “unsubscribe” link in such emails. If you opt out, we will not reduce the value of any financial incentives you previously received from us; however, you may no longer continue to receive offers from us.

We do not assign a monetary value to the data that we collect in connection with the Program or other financial incentives. However, we believe in good faith that the value received from each program is greater than the value we receive from the use of the personal information. The method for calculating the value would include the value of anticipated revenue from the program; costs associated with facilitating and managing the incentive or program; expenses incurred in the storage, retention and use of the information; and all other costs reasonably related to the incentive or program.
