Carbon13 SEIS Fund VI: Investing in Early-Stage Climate Tech Ventures

July 31 @ 13:00 - 14:00 BST

Free
With Min Dhillon, Head of Capital at Carbon13

Are you passionate about your money making a positive impact on the planet? Join our webinar, to explore the Carbon13 SEIS Fund VI (2024/25 tax year) – an exclusive chance to invest in early-stage climate tech ventures emerging from the Carbon13 programmes.

On the agenda:

In this webinar, we’ll take you through Carbon13’s approach to generating innovation and impact. Through our Venture Builder programmes, we invest in mission-driven founders with the potential to build scalable companies that will significantly impact humanity’s emissions and its transition to Net Zero.

New to climate?

We’ll also take you through what climate tech is, because any of our investors are completely new to “climatetech” as a horizontal in startups. We’ll look at what climate impact means, what it involves, what it intends to achieve – and how we ensure our portfolio is truly impactful: from measurement to the training of founders in carbon intelligence. Our SEIS Fund has the same ROI goals as any fund, so we’ll explain how that relationship works with our impact goals too.

New to SEIS?

The Carbon13 Fund is an SEIS Fund. SEIS stands for the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme and many angel investors use this scheme to make investments. It’s a UK Government scheme for UK businesses only and it aims to encourage investors to finance startups by providing tax breaks for backing projects. In the webinar we’ll take you through what SEIS is, how it works in terms of tax relief, how to look at risk management and diversification. Both first-time and seasoned investors invest under SEIS.

Carbon13 is the Venture Builder for the Climate Emergency.

Since 2021 Carbon13 has invested in 71 startups, making us one of Europe’s most active investors in early stage climate startups. These startups are working on solving decarbonisation challenges in every sector, from hydrogen to carbon removal to synthetic biology and building retrofits. The total current decarbonisation potential that our portfolio is working towards is 500 million tonnes per year by 2040, that’s 1% of humanity’s current annual emissions.

Our investors’ role in fighting the climate emergency

Our investor community has played a vital role in making Carbon13’s work happen, fuelling these startups’ growth and technical breakthroughs. Investors in our SEIS funds sometimes contribute much more than just investment – through our investor community they can contribute insights for the ventures, advice, connections and support.

This webinar constitutes a financial promotion and is directed only at Professional Clients, High Net-Worth Investors and Self-Certified Sophisticated Investors. By registering, you are indicating that you fall within one of these categories.
