Carbon13: Cohort 6 Community Input Day I

July 23 @ 09:30 - 12:30 BST

Free
18+ teams, brought together by Carbon13’s programme, will be pitching their climate focused ventures to the public for the very first time.

Witness the Carbon13 Venture Builder in action

The Community Input Days will see our next cohort of climatetech ventures pitch to the Carbon13 community, showcasing their ventures for the very first time.

Each venture is working on a solution with the potential to mitigate 10 million tonnes of CO2e per year when at scale, working in sectors including renewable energy and carbon capture.

The event is held via Zoom and the pitches are recorded, so attendees are welcome to join for all or one of the pitches.

We want your input

These two days are our chance to bring our community closer to our ventures: everyone is invited to learn, offer input, and contribute to the growth of our ventures.

The founding teams all formed and developed their propositions on the Venture Builder and these pitches are their last step before our Investment Committee decides which ventures will receive our £150k investment.

They’re eager to hear the community’s feedback and refine their pitches one last time before the investment decision.

What are the ventures building?

The founders will share their climatetech solutions such as:

  • The prevention of CO2 emissions from crop residue burning
  • Turning abundant proteins into fibres to improve soil health
  • Industrial Heat Pumps / steam as a service
  • Energy flexibility
  • Sustainability data collection, sharing & verification across the construction value chain
  • AI software to model/optimise decarbonisation

About the Venture Builder

The Venture Builder for the Climate Emergency is an eight month programme where a cohort of 80 founders come together to form cofounding teams and develop ventures with the commercial and climate potential to mitigate emissions by at least 10 million tonnes per year when at scale.

Since 2021, the Venture Builder has worked with over 500 founders and invested into 71 ventures with a current total market valuation of over £100 million. Startups which got their start on the Venture Builder include Nium, Infyos, BioZeroc, Materials Nexus, Kita and Tierra Foods. The latter two ventures are also nominated for Earthshot Prizes 2023.

Applications are open now to join our next cohorts. You do not need an idea or a team to apply, just your commitment to fighting climate change through a venture. Explore the programme in full here.

Whether you’re considering joining Carbon as a founder, or a climate investor, or part of the wider Carbon13 community, we’re looking forward to seeing you at the Community Input Days.
