    People & Talent Leader - Ex-Timbre Games (studio closure)

    #OpenToWork and asking for your support. 🥰 🙏🏼 Over the past two weeks, I have dedicated my reach on LinkedIn to support my team affected by the unfortunate closure at Timbre Games. Today, I would like to selfishly shift that spotlight to highlight my own skills and ask you all to assist in sharing my availability with your network. I've never been affected by a #layoff before, and I'll take all the help I can get. 🙌🏼 I'm a Leader in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, experienced in #games and technology, in start-ups and established organizations. I partner with leaders to develop progressive, effective, and inclusive practices that benefit staff at all levels. 🌈 I'm passionate about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, and have experience with enforcing policies and administering changes required to center these values. I know how to walk the walk, and when to call out that #DEIB is becoming no more than just lip service. 🌱 Nothing gets me quite as excited as growing a team. I'm experienced in partnering with executives to define business needs and strategically plan for acquiring talent in this ever-shifting market.     This morning, another post featuring the work of one of our incredibly talented Timberoos looking for their next gig. Micaela Dawn joined Timbre as Art Director on our original IP title, and did an incredible job breathing life into it. Her approach to art direction took a game concept based on a goofy idea and brought warmth and heart to it.     Art Director - Looking for Work

    I wanted to share some more #artdirection for Willow that Timbre Games was working on before the closure. Absurd Impracticality! In a world where you are an ex-Hero, what does it mean to be 'retired' and how can we show off the bizarre world of Willow without simply making folks have modern-day clothing like swimsuits and Hawaiian shirts? One of the hallmarks of working/adventure is practicality. Business man? Stiff suit and playful socks. Knight? Shining Armor. So when someone retires, they're not just wearing retirement clothing... they're being impractical! The reason why the Wealthy in the middle ages wore absurdly long Poulaines on their feet was because it showed others that they did NOT need to work, because attempting to work in ridiculous shoes was impractical. So looking more into the absurd fashions across the world during the Middle Ages and also exploring what practicality means in the world of Willow helps give us another guideline for art direction.     Kassondra Krahn has been Timbre’s Principal Artist, and a huge part of Timbre, almost since we started. We reached out to Kass over three years ago because we were in love with the dioramas she posts on Instagram. Since joining she’s been instrumental in defining the look of Timbre games. Bringing her style, wit and charm to all of her work, Kass inspires the artists around her. The way a great Principal does.
