Following its constitutive plenary, the new European Parliament is now ready to work ✍️ But hold on, what will happen to the unfinished files from the previous term? 📂 At the end of the 9th legislature: ▶️ 174 ordinary legislative procedure files were ongoing ▶️ Around 60 of them at an early stage ▶️ Several others (e.g. special legislative, budgetary & non-legislative procedures) were unfinished To ensure continuity, Parliament has adopted rules on how to deal with unfinished files. In particular, the Conference of Presidents may decide to resume some of the unfinished business. How does it work? ⤵️

Political groups often use the d'Hondt method to distribute the posts of chairs and vice-chairs of committees among themselves by informal agreement.
