The Metropolis Invasion was a siege led by Brainiac in hopes of conquering Earth. Many Metropolis residents lost their lives to Brainiac's army and the Justice League, excluding Wonder Woman, were brainwashed and joined Brainiac's cause.

Before Kill the Justice League Incident[]
Metropolis was one of the largest cities in the United States before the invasion, due to it being the hometown of legendary hero Superman with the Hall of Justice being located in the city. Aswell Billionaire Lex Luthor had his company LexCorp located in Metropolis.
Kill the Justice League Incident[]
3 weeks before the events of Kill the Justice League, Brainiac had arrived with his skull ship floating in the sky right as the Justice League were hosting Justice Day to present the team to the public. Citizens of Metropolis were confused on what was going on but had hopes of the Justice League being able to defeat the invading forces.[1] However with most of the Justice League being comprised (outside of Wonder Woman, Flash) Brainiac had quickly started to deploy his forces there and managed to block the city within meaning none of the outside world could help the city from the invasion or enter the city outside of a train station that A.R.G.U.S. soldiers used to enter the city along with the Suicide Squad. As a result the city was besieged for the entirety of the Kill the Justice League Incident. The city was heavily destroyed during the invasion and had undergone beginning transformations for Brainiac's Home Planet, New Colu
