"Welcome to the REAL Batman Experience. I'm Jack Ryder, author, writer and investigative journalist. Curator of the exhibit. I know all there is to know about Batman's greatest feats. This is not a dramatization. What you're about to experience is based on eyewitness accounts and YEARS of my own research."
—A recording of Jack Ryder introducing the Batman Experience

The Batman Experience is an museum dedicated to recapping three major events in Batman's crime fighting career in Gotham City.

History[]

At some point after Bruce Wayne became Batman again and had joined the Justice League, a museum was built with the purpose of retelling three different events in the Dark Knight's life: the events retold in this interactive experience were Joker's takeover of Arkham Asylum and the creation of Titan, the creation of Arkham City, the activation of Protocol 10 and the death of the Joker and Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight's attack on Gotham City during the City of Fear incident, which ended with the unmasking of and assumed death of Bruce Wayne. A fourth event, happening long after Batman's unmasking, recaps Bruce's meeting with Superman, his public return as Batman and him joining the Justice League is shown at the end of The Batman Experience. Jack Ryder provided his voice for every interactable soundboard giving information to visitors during The Batman Experience, as he had covered Joker's takeover of the Asylum, was trapped in Arkham City during the Protocol 10 incident and was in Gotham during the City of Fear incident. Part of the opening narrative explains that nothing is dramatized, as Ryder claims the experience is based both eyewitness accounts along with years of his own research.

Incident Report[]

Kill the Justice League Incident[]

Batman broke in and killed all the survivors hiding from Brainiac's forces; deeming them unsuitable for integration into the army. When the Suicide Squad break in, to hide out with a captive Flash, Batman is ordered by Brainiac to capture Flash. One by one Batman stalks and incapacitates each member of the Squad, and almost kills Harley Quinn with a bullet to the head, something he would have succeeded at had the Flash not saved her in time, this causes Batman to beat the already injured Flash to near death before being stopped by a transmission from Brainiac, ordering him to bring the Flash back with him alive. Batman complies with this request before the two are phased back to the Skull Ship.

Waller had Hack break open the locks on the museum, which Batman fried with his Disruptor, allowing the team to finally leave.

Layout[]

The museum in Metropolis has an interior going repeating "5" shape.

Asylum Section[]

A recreation of the Asylum elevator area with cut-outs of Batman helping escort the gurney Joker is strapped to. At the end of the hall is a cut-out of Killer Croc. Turning into the next hall is four displays. One of Titan Infused Joker, Harley Quinn, Victor Zsasz and Bane. An Asylum guard's testimony is included in the audio for the display.

City Section[]

A recreation of the court house scene when Two-Face is stopped from killing Catwoman. It shows Batman showing up and knocking down goons as well. A Two-Face thugs testimony is included in the audio for the display.

Outside of this area is a display of Batman holding a dead Joker. Displays of Ra's al Ghul, Talia al Ghul, Hugo Strange, Deadshot, Mad Hatter, Clayface and Solomon Grundy surround it.

Knight Section[]

A recreation of Bleake Island with the Clock Tower. It holds displays of Poison Ivy, Firefly, Penguin, The Riddler, Arkham Knight, Deacon Blackfire, Deathstroke and Professor Pyg. The introduction display will lower a giant cut-out of Scarecrow from the dark ceiling and eventually a life-size cut-out of Batman that unmasks after the introduction is done. A testimony for one of the Station 17 fire crew is included with the audio for the display.Near the end is a replica of the Wayne Manor fire, with a recording of Vicki Vale's broadcast.

Batman joins the Justice League Section[]

Beyond the Knight area is a display of Batman shaking hands with Superman after revealing he had faked his death, and accepting Superman's offer to join the Justice League and thus returning to being Batman once again.

Trivia[]

  • The actors doing the voices for Joker, Killer Croc, Two-Face and Scarecrow get everything they said right in verbatim; although Killer Croc's threat to eat Batman after his "I've got your scent Batman" line is excluded by the actor doing his voice.
  • A Man Bat cut out will pop out of the top of the clock tower if you stand on top. Even if you break it, the head and wings will still appear with the trademark shriek.
  • A section for the Arkham Origins incident is notably lacking.
    • This may be due to the fact Batman was considered merely a myth and wasn't that well documented in Year 2. Plus Gordon would have kept his involvement quiet at the time following the two beginning to work together.
  • The Mad Hatter recording gets his real name wrong by a single letter; using "a" instead of "e". Either this was goof on Ryder's behalf, or Rocksteady genuinely got it wrong.
  • It's ironic that Joker is in most of the displays, countering Batman's claims to his old enemy that he will be forgotten; back when he sealed the influence of the Joker Infection in his mind.
  • As Bruce's time as "the Ghost" isn't covered at any point in The Batman Experience, it's more than likely that Bruce never revealed to the public he had continued fighting crime after faking his death.
