UC Santa Cruz to close student trailer park
The University of California, Santa Cruz announced on Wednesday that they will close its student trailer park on Leonardo Lane.
The university chose to close Camper Park based on "significant health and safety concerns." A safety and sustainability review process was initiated with the closure of the trailer park being the decision.

"During this review process, input was solicited from many, including the campus Fire Marshal's office, Environmental Health and Safety, and Campus Housing," said a university spokesperson in a campus news post.

The notice also stated that Camper Park residents were actively involved in talks with campus staff during the spring to give their thoughts.
Student housing is now reaching out to students who are interested in living at Camper Park for the upcoming school year. They will be helped in seeking other housing options.

The university said that the health and safety of the community were the reason for the decision.
