Palia Tips and Tricks
Getting started in Palia? There's plenty to do in this vibrant and lively world, but it can be a lot to figure out at the start. We've put together this handy list of Palia tips and tricks to help you progress!
Getting Started
Your first priority should be to complete the starting questline as soon as possible to unlock all tools and basic crafting recipes.
You should also ensure you chat with everyone to start building relationships prior to the Happy Housewarming quest, which will ask you to give 5 gifts to villagers. Villagers have favorite gifts!
Work On Leveling Up Your Skills
First of all, we recommend you start cooking mushrooms to level the Cooking Skill and get more delicious food to boost focus.
Skills level up as you complete tasks pertaining to that skill. So, mining nodes will increase your mining skill level, harvesting crops will increase your farming skill level etc.
Clearing out your farm is a good way to get basic resources and level up some of your skills.
Level up your skills as much as possible to unlock upgrades for that skill. For example, increasing your mining gives you access to a better mining pick to break down larger nodes. Upgrade your tools as soon as possible, as upgraded tools are more efficient!
Make Some Money
You'll need some funds, of course! Fishing and catching bugs to sell is a good way to make a quick profit at the beginning. Fish within the Fishing Pools to catch higher quality fish which sell for more!
Hunting can also be a great way to bolster gold and stack up on meat/food and resources for crafting recipes. You can find herds of Sernuk near the Whispering Banks in Kilima which sometimes drop Sernuk Antlers when killed. Sell Sernuk Antlers and other loot to make some good coin.
Help Out the Locals
Building relationships with villagers by giving them gifts will open up new quests - some of them give gold, Renown and even recipes, food, and other fun items. Learn what each Villager loves to be gifted or ask them about their current Weekly Wants to level up your relationship with them even quicker.
Learn the Best Ways to Get Around
There are fast travel locations marked with a horseshoe on the map! You will have to travel to them to use them and it costs a bit of gold but can help you get around town quicker.
There is also a Return Home button at the top left of your map you can use to travel back home, but be aware it does have a 30 minute cooldown.
Unlock the Glider as soon as possible by completing the Ancient Battery questline with Jina. Najuma will be the one to give you the Glider in Bahari Bay - but you will need to provide the ingredients to make it!
Upgrade Your Focus with Renown
Visit the Phoenix Shrine in the room you first began in to turn in Renown - every 100 Renown points will give you an increase in your Focus Generation Bonus.
Visit the Dragon Shrine to upgrade the total amount of your Focus Bar you can fill up. Every 100 Renown will boost the bar just a bit to increase the amount of focus you can have.
