Best Ways to Make Money in Palia
Much like in most life-simulation games - and, well, life - money is a necessary part of your day-to-day. It can be a little confusing to make money in Palia at first, but we've got some easy ways to start building up your funds.
Farming, hunting, and fishing are great ways to make money in Palia! If you are clever about how you strategize each of these activities, you can perfectly balance making "passive income" while grinding for lots of gold at the same time.
Here are the best ways to make gold in Palia currently, ranked from best to worst:
Make Effortless Money with Farming
While each individual crop might not sell for as much as a rare fish or Elder Sernuk Antlers, you can maximize your profits in Palia by setting up a farm layout to grow tons of star-quality crops with little effort.
You see, crops in Palia work a bit differently than in other farming games. Thanks to the unique effect bonus that each crop has, by staggering the pattern in which you plant certain crops, you can set up a Soil Plot that almost never needs to be watered or weeded.
Even before you have unlocked Blueberries and Apples at Gardening Level 10, you can organize a killer farm layout that you'll only need to visit every couple day cycles to harvest and re-seed. Keep at least three Seed Collectors going on your House Plot at all times, and you won't even need to revisit Zeki's General Store to buy new seeds. Just plop your Star-Quality crops into a Seed Collector and wait until it's generated some Star-Quality Seeds.
Rinse and repeat, and eventually you'll have yourself a nearly automated garden of high-quality produce that you can revisit whenever you are done with one of the other money-making activities listed below.
Hunting Sernuk for Meat, Antlers, and Hide
Hunting Sernuk and Chapaa is not only one of the best early-game methods of making money in Palia, but it also remains a fantastic way of farming gold even in late-game.
You can easily hunt Sernuk and Chapaa with nothing more than your Makeshift Bow and base Arrow. However, with a little grind, upgrading to a Copper Arrow helps you one-shot Sernuk and Chapaa with ease.
Focus on hunting Sernuk chiefly, as they drop not only Sernuk Hide and Sernuk Meat but will also occasionally drop Sernuk Antlers. One Sernuk Antler sells for a base price of 43 Gold. Elder Sernuk, located chiefly in Bahari Bay, will sometimes drop Elder Sernuk Antlers which sell for 100 Gold.
Farm for Sernuk parts while your garden is busy growing back at home and when you return, you should have a Shipping Bin that is bursting at the seams.
Reeling in the Gold by Fishing
Fishing is another great way to earn some quick gold, especially if you maximize your efforts by planting some crops before you head out and grabbing some forageables on the way to the water. This relaxing activity can get you a nice nest egg in no time — some fish can sell for higher than 300 gold a piece.
Make sure you're casting your line whenever you see ripples in the water to catch star-quality fish, which will sell for even more than their ordinary counterparts. If you've caught any fish that sell for less than what you'd like, cook them up and sell that dish for more than they would normally sell raw!
Other Ways to Scrounge Up Some Gold
While farming, hunting, and fishing may be the top three ways to make money quickly, that doesn't mean there aren't other useful skills for making some quick gold!
Foraging for things while you're on the way to another objective is a great way to find crafting ingredients or rare items to sell on their own! Picking up all the Sundrop Lilies you can find on your walks is an easy way to make some extra pocket change. Just like foraging, mining has a lot of steps and can be pretty time consuming, but at the end of the process, you can make a fair amount of gold from it as well. The great thing about foraging and mining is that the plants and mining nodes you find grow back every in-game day!
Cooking is a great way to maximize your profits as well; take the things you find while you're hunting, fishing and farming, then cook them into delicious meals that will both boost your Focus and sell for larger amounts of money than raw ingredients.
Lastly, while bug catching takes time and a small amount of skill, some of the bugs you find can sell for a good amount of gold, especially early on. Most of the bugs you can find in the early game will sell for more than a lot of other individual items - even the Common Field Cricket sells for 16G a piece! Rare insects often sell for 100 Gold or more.
