Enshrouded Multiplayer: How to Host a World and Play With Friends
Enshrouded prides itself on being a co-op open-world survival game, so while it's fun to explore Embervale by yourself, it's equally as fun to team up with friends. On this page, you'll find everything you need to know about hosting or joining a world so your team can tackle the fog together.
How to Host a World and Play With Friends
Creating or joining a multiplayer world starts from the main menu of the game. When you load it up, press Play and you'll be taken to a screen with three different options:
- Private
- Host
- Join
Select Host if you want to create a public game that’s saved locally. For this option, you can choose to create a new world or use a world that you’ve already created to host a session with friends. On this menu, you can change the number of people who can join the session, all the way up to 16 players!
Note!
To host more players, you’ll need to check your internet connection is stable and you’ll need higher performance for PC.Before you select Play to begin your multiplayer session, open the Configure menu to review your settings and permissions. There are three roles you can set for your players:
- Helper:
- Unable to kick people from the server.
- Unable to open chests or access factories.
- Unable to edit terrain, props, or bases.
- Unable to place flame altars, extinguish flames, or upgrade bases.
- Friend:
- Unable to kick people from the server.
- Able to open chests and access factories.
- Able to edit terrain, props, and bases.
- Unable to place flame altars, extinguish flames, or upgrade bases.
- Admin:
- Admins have full permission to do all of the above.
You can select what roles you want to allow in your multiplayer session by toggling the switches on and off. You can also set different passwords for each role, so you have full control over who does what in your multiplayer session.
Once you're happy with your settings and permissions, exit the Configure menu and press Play. Review your permissions, and if you're happy with your settings, press Start to begin your session.
How to Join a Multiplayer Session
Alternatively, if you want to join an online game or a friend's world, you can choose Join from the three options. Here you can see all the servers you’re able to join, and there's an option to search for a server. To join a friend's session, check the "only show friends session" box.
