The Department of Global HIV, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections Programmes leads the development and implementation of the global health sector strategy on the elimination of viral hepatitis as a public health threat.
 

Global Hepatitis Report 2024

WHO's new 2024 Global Hepatitis Report alerts that the number of lives lost due to viral hepatitis is increasing. The disease is the second leading infectious cause of death globally – with 1.3 million deaths per year, the same as tuberculosis, a top infectious killer.
