Story Summary

Winter, 2019, Boston. Two FBI agents, a man and a woman, walk into a rundown apartment to visit a man.
The "mystery man" is puzzled by their rude visit.
According to female agent Aaliyah, they are re-investigating a case that the man solved as an agent fourteen years ago.
The case takes place in New Orleans, in the southern United States.
What now? The man is puzzled, but the word "Red Tree" comes out of Aliya's mouth, and he is interested in it.
Then his memory jumps back to 2005 in the rural town of Le Carré in New Orleans - a strange series of murders that took place 14 years ago.
