At SmarterHome (“we” or “us”), we take your privacy very seriously.
SmarterHome is a company that develops app-controlled smart home and smart garage products. Our products are available for sale on our website, www.smarterhome.com (the “Site”), as well as through various third-party dealer partners.
SmarterHome also has developed both Apple iOS and Android apps (the “Apps”) for the control and usage of our products. The following apps are owned solely by SmarterHome.
- SmarterHome Windows: for the control of our MySmartWindows product.
- MyLifter: for the control of our MyLifter product.
- GarageSmart: for the control of our smart garage products.
- Tilt: for the control of our automated roller shades.
- MySmartBlinds: for the control of our automated blinds.
Personal data protection is an integral part of the development of our products and their functionalities. Because successful relationships require mutual trust and shared understanding, we aim for transparency in the way we deal with your personal data. In this Notice, we refer to any personal information or data as “Personal Information,” which means any information from which we are able, directly or indirectly, to identify you. For instance, this happens with identifiers such as a name and surname, an email address, and/or a phone number.
We have drafted this Privacy Notice to help you understand who we are, what personal data we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, what privacy rights and choices you have, and how to reach out to us with questions.

Collecting Personal Information Through the Site

- Personal Information collected: version of web browser, IP address, time zone, cookie information, and how you interact with the Site.
- Order information
- Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
- Source of collection: collected from you.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify and our third-party logistics partners for the purpose of fulfilling your order.
- Personal Information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Shop Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, Meta Pay), email address, and phone number.
- Customer support information
- Purpose of collection: to provide you with consumer support, respond to your inquiries, fulfill your requests, and provide you with related consumer service. We may also use this personal data to improve and customize our products and their functionalities and to train our consumer care employees.
- Source of collection: when you contact our consumer support, or when you communicate with one of our consumer care representatives by email, phone, social media channels or similar.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: may be shared with a third-party logistics partner only if necessary to provide customer service at your request.
- Personal Information collected: your call recording for quality assurance, your questions or requests that you addressed, the status of your request, email, phone number, and any other information provided.
Collecting Personal Information Through Apps
When you use our Apps, we collect certain information about your device and information necessary for you to control our products with the Apps.
- Device information
- Purpose of collection: to know compatibility for improved debugging of the Apps.
- Source of collection: when you set up and use the Apps.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: device information is not disclosed to any third party.
- Personal Information collected: type of device and operating system version.
- Login Information
- Purpose of collection: for you to log in and access your account with our Apps.
- Source of collection: when you set up your account in the Apps.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: login information is not disclosed to any third party.
- Personal Information collected: email, name, phone number.
- Product Control Information
- Purpose of collection: for the control and function of our products and for utilizing your time zone when you set automations and schedules for our products.
- Source of collection: when you set up and use the Apps.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: product control information is not disclosed to any third party.
- Personal Information collected: location services, product information and automation schedules.
External Data Storage Sites
We may store your data on servers provided by third party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted.
Minors
Our Site and Apps are designed and intended for use by adults. We do not intentionally collect information from children under the age of 16.
Special note to Children under the age of 16: if you are under the age of 16, we request you not to share your data with us unless you have explicit consent from your parent or guardian before sharing your data with us.
Special note to Parents of Children under the age of 16: we recommend that you check and monitor your children's use of our products, systems, product functionalities, applications (including websites and other digital channels) in order to make sure that your child does not share personal data with us without asking your permission.
Sharing Personal Information for the Site
We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:

- We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
- We may share your name, address, and phone number with our third-party logistics partners for the purpose of fulfilling your order.
Sharing Personal Information for the Apps
We do not share any personal information that is collected through the Apps.
Behavioral Advertising for the Site
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:

Using Personal Information for the Site
We use your personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing process payments, and shipping and fulfillment of your order.
If you opt in to our email or text marketing, we use your Personal Information to send emails or texts keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.
Using Personal Information for the Apps
We use your Personal Information for account login, and to run the automations you have set up in our Apps for our products.
Selling Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or lease any personal information to third parties.
