Deathbound is an indie action RPG influenced by FromSoftware's take on the subgenre, but it adds its unique spin with the addition of party-based combat mechanics. Using the game's Morphstrike system, players will be able to dynamically transform between different fallen warriors, each with their own skills and abilities.

By binding the souls of the dead, these characters can be used to form a party, and by harnessing the talent trees of each, players can craft a playstyle that matches their own. The setting of Trialforge Studio's creation is described as "a callous world where Faith and Science clash". Inspiration was taken from the developer's homeland of Brazil, evident in its musical stylings and focus on the dancing martial art of capoeira.
