Agatha All Along brings a whole coven of witches (and one demiurge) to the MCU

A first look at the WandaVision spinoff gets witchy

Kathryn Hahn returns as WandaVision’s breakout villain Agatha Harkness this September, and Marvel Entertainment released a first teaser for the miniseries Monday. Agatha All Along looks like it’ll be a witchy installment indeed, arriving just in time for Halloween.

Hahn returns as Agatha Harkness, but the teaser also features most of the rest of the cast, including: Aubrey Plaza as a witch, the inimitable Patti LuPone as a witch, That 70’s Show’s Debra Jo Rupp as a witch, SNL’s Sasheer Zamata as a witch, and Ali Ahn as a witch. Heartstopper’s Joe Locke plays Billy Kaplan, whom Lapone described as a witch’s familiar, but that Marvel Comics readers will know better as the existentially powerful Demiurge, prince consort of Emperor Dorrek VIII of the Kree-Skrull empire, and the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch.

What will Agatha All Along do with Billy’s deep Marvel Comics history? That’s anyone’s guess. At the end of WandaVision, Wanda Maximoff took her revenge on Agatha (who’d tried to steal the Scarlet Witch’s unique chaos magic) by stripping her of her powers and trapping her in the guise of “Agnes,” a small town sitcom neighbor, which she’d used to bamboozle Wanda in the first place.

If the teaser is any indication, Agatha All Along will follow the titular witch as she recovers her true mind, puts together a coven, and pursues the recovery of her magic. The nine-episode miniseries will premiere on Disney Plus on Sept. 18, with two episodes.
