Alexandra S. Levine is a reporter covering the intersection of technology, government and public policy, and she is the author of POLITICO’s popular daily newsletter, Morning Tech. She is focused on the crosscurrents between Silicon Valley and Washington D.C., and how technology is shaping the 2020 presidential election.

Prior to joining POLITICO in 2019, Alexandra was a Metro reporter at The New York Times, where she spent three years at the helm of the New York Today column and contributed enterprise stories to the National, Travel and Style sections.

She earned a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also an alumna of the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics, a program in Germany and Poland that explores the ethics of reporting on politics, war and genocide.

When not on the tech beat, Alexandra can be found doing improv, training for her next marathon and ghostwriting wedding toasts under the pseudonym, “The Toastess.”
