Hey thank you for this amazing mod. I just want to check if I am correct, so if I want to be able to open all doors/chest without requirements and never break anything.. I set:
and leave everything else as in description. is that correct? :)
EDIT: just wanted to confirm these settings are correct and mod works great! I had no problems with chest not opening or weird animations. The only thing is if chest is much higher level my char has to bash chest few times to open it, while low level ones open on first bash, which makes sense and I actually like it :) I suspect that people who have problems haven't edited ini file values properly.
I've installed mod using the Vortex app and I have problem finding a way to configure the mod, as in the DragonAge.ini there are no lines related to "Bash". I've checked it and the mod works fine so somewhere must be information about it, but I just can't find it. Is there a way to edit mod settings after installing it with Vortex?
You have to ADD those lines in the DragonAge.ini in order to configure the mod, It's not added into the .ini during the installation. (yes I know, reading comprehension is a useful skill)
Tested by setting the value of: BashCanWarrior=0
My warrior char could not bash the same chest which she was able to do before the change.
You need 7-Zip to extract the files from the download. It's not a 'normal' ZIP archive; look at the file extension: Lock Bash v7e for Original and Awakening-301.7z.
Use the 7-zip utility to extract the archive, and you'll have a folder with with the two DAzip installers: xatmos_lockbash.dazip and xatmos_lockbash_awakening.dazip
Hey this might be a silly question but where exactly do I add the Configuration settings because I went in the folder but I'm not sure where to add them? I have the DAZIP files in my mod manager & it works, but it takes my mage like 6 hits to but open a chest :')
edited: I also "Lost" loot when I bashed open a chest? Is this normal?
For the settings, you add it to the DragonAge.ini that you find in C:\Users\[username]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings
Open the file in notepad and add the text from the description to the bottom. That text also has an explanation of what the settings do (including how to avoid losing stuff - by default that has a chance of happening with this mod, and you can turn it off). I believe the amount of hits needed are based on how difficult it is, so you could play with the difficulty settings to see if that changes things?
Not game breaking, but my MC keeps hitting the chest when you can clearly see the chest already been destroyed with one strike. Is this normal? I am using two hander weapon.
The info says the warrior STR requirement for normal is 46, but i needed to equip the Helm of Honnleath (+2 all attributes) while on 46 STR to bash the chest in the upper ruins, by the dragon hoard (Brecilian forest - > werewolf ruins)
Ok for anyone who thinks the mod does not work - I'm doing the city elf origin and I'm in the castle, tried it on locked doors and it did not work. I checked everything in the installation process, nothing. Then I randomly got back to a locked chest earlier on the map and I could bash it. So make sure you're not testing it on something that can be locked for plot reasons.
This doesnt work, i started a new warrior human and the first chest in the castle i came across wasnt able to be bashed, i followed all tutorial instructions. Just get the Inneficient skill promt
Hey, just making sure that I'm doing everything right. So I followed all of the tutorials to install bash mod, and during my initial session it worked. After I saved and came back, it does not open chests anymore at all. Some people say it's specific chests, but I'm talking about all of Redcliffe, no matter what chest it is, whenever I press on the chest, it just says Insufficient skill, and then nothing happens. Please Help?
EDIT: for new users, if you want to bash everything, make sure that BASHCHECK=1
