I know the post is old but for new players, it doesn't crash the game, but I don't see the raven anywhere. In Awakening there is the "Manual of Focus", but with that you may still have 1 or 2 spells/talents/skills not reset.
The manuals are infinite in quantity and can be bought from Harren (located in Vigil's Keep courtyard) for 6 gold (if you don't respec often it shouldn't be a problem by that time if you import the character).
This modification is only for the main game (Dragon Age: Origins)! For the add-on "Awakening" there are (as already mentioned here) purchasable books in the vanilla game. It is strongly recommended to disable this modification before starting Awakening!
This mod works perfectly and is a must have - I'd advise you enable it AFTER you acquire the Mabari in your game otherwise you will not get to choose a name for it because the dialog prompt will not appear.
Sorry to bother, but I think I damaged my save. I am returning to play DAO and when I tried to load my save, it shows this msg "you neeed Character Respec Addon v1.6" but it's instaled, I tried re install and the msg persist, if I try to load my game, just crashes.
So if I do the Circle of Mage questline and get all the extra specialisation points from the Fade then use the respec do I still keep those extra points? (edit) found my answer in the comments
Hello! I'm unsure if this mod is still maintained but I ran into an interesting situation the other day while playing after installing. I've found that respecing before dismissing your dog follower from the mod Extra Dog Slot kills the dog and counts as a death for him, adding an injury whilst breaking functionality for the mod. You can still resummon him, but you can no longer use his skills manually and his portrait disappears from beside your character. I've since fixed this issue when I figured it out, but i'd figured I should post about it just in case someone else has a similar issue.

Unsure if I'll get a response but after downloading this mod, loading up my save causes my game to instantly crash, is there any fix for this or something I can do to make this stop happening?
I have the same issue as well. The respec worked very well but it crashed everytime I try to load that save. Thankfully I backed up my save before respeccing. Hopefully there's a way to sove this.
