If you updated from 5.0 and your savefile from that version is gone, open modengine.ini and change useAlternateSaveFile=0 to useAlternateSaveFile=1. I set this to 0 by default in 5.1 since otherwise, people couldn't play on their vanilla saves like the FAQ advertises.
The mod currently requires you to downpatch your DS3 to version 1.5 in order to play it. You can find a tutorial for this here. ModEngine's current version (which the mod needs to function) currently does not support alternative saves, while the old version (included with this mod's files) does. Because of this, Ido not plan to update the mod until this changes. This is so that when I do update the mod for DS3's current version, people who were playing on a modded save won't lose their progress.
I have a question, so the optional file says that its a file to make kicks easier for mouse and keyboard, while the yt installation guide by "Great Mighty p0" says that its for controller users. Can someone quickly clarify, if i should use the optional file when i play mouse and keyboard?
It's a preference thing. You can use it just fine on KB+M, it just makes kicking more reliable than having to perfectly sync up pressing forward + light attack at the same time. Just make sure to remap your jump key like the download on the mod's files page says, or you'll kick every time you roll.
I need help regarding the mod; I've done everything correctly yet some -if not most- of the weapons don't have their respective movesets. For example Usurper's Mirrorblade, the R1 just does a constant single swing, L1 just punches, and the L2 does the rapier thrust skill. Can't even use Genechiro's bow attacks, or Isshin's gun. Please help.
I can't log in to the game. Error 0xc0000142. When dinput8.dll it is in the folder, it gives an error. When I take it out of the folder, the game works, but the mod does not work. What to do?
