you can use rewwise to unpack the .bnk after unpacking with UXM. to listen to the .wem files you can use foobar2000 and install the vgmstream component with the free encoder pack, i tried to use dsanimstudio to find where the footsteps are stored easier but its not compatible with the dlc version of elden ring unfortunately.
Btw, I kinda have an idea to replace footstep's (not armor) sound with the chain/jingling sound from chain armor. I believe it will sound great when wearing plate armor too. I kinda hate the in-game footstep's sound, because it sounds like wearing modern shoes...
Any idea how to do it? Maybe just by renaming certain file in the game folder...?
I downloaded the DSSI. Now, from what folder of the game I can get the chain/jingling sound to be swapped with DSSI? And do you know the codename/numbers of the chain/jingling sound name?
it should be. If it doesn't try reinstalling it after cinders and making sure to replace files when asked. I haven't tested it with newer versions, though
Okay thankyou. I will avoid and just use cinders mod for the time being. I dunno, but could you ask the author of cinders mod if he could put your mod audio (heavy footsteps) in with cinders??? I wouldn't mind paying for it.
Question? Do i really need mod engine for it to work? I have cinders mod without the mod engine and just wondering will your audio mod work fine without mod engine.
Great mod, really missed the armor feels from DSI. But one question: When i roll in plate armor like the knight one from the beginning, it plays the sound like no armor is wearing. Is it normal? No other mod installed Otherwise it works fine.
That seems odd, It usually works for rolls too. I guess the only thing I can think of is reinstalling it since some other mod might have included a new sound file for rolling that replaced it?
I tried adding this to the "Cinder" mod: "DARK SOULS III \ Game \ Cinders \ Sound", as well as the "Cinder \ sfx" folder... But, nothing happens in-game =/
Can I use this mod in the above fashion? Mod Engine should load it, no?... It loads the H.U.D. mods...
Yeah, it should be able to load with cinders, that's what I'm doing. I guess make sure you're installing it after cinders just to be sure some update isn't overriding it. I don't think cinders replaces any sounds, but I haven't played in a few updates.
unfortunately, i think it is. Any mod engine mods are bannable afaik. Though fromsoft never does hard bans, you could always opt for the "online modders" way of just installing everything you like online and just playing cinders mod online in the "cheater pool"

edit: scratch that. It would make the errors with fat roll equip load being too loud even worse. I think it's best to leave it where it is
Great job you did here!
