Multiple people were injured and at least three cars were destroyed by fire after a crash on Interstate 95 Saturday afternoon. One of the cars involved in the inferno was carrying a load of fireworks, which complicated firefighting efforts.

An eight-car pileup was reported in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the Godwin-Falcon exit and the 67-mile marker, at 3:58 p.m. Dunn Emergency Services was dispatched to provide mutual aid to the Cumberland County units that responded and reported a vehicle fire.
