Celebrating a Decade of Innovation: Acxiom's Acquisition of LiveRamp

Today marks a decade since Acxiom's transformative acquisition of LiveRamp .  

The genesis of the acquisition began in 2011 when alongside Scott Howe , Warren Jenson , and a team of exceptional leaders at Acxiom, we embarked on a mission  to transform data-driven marketing.  Our vision was to enable brands and their partners to safely and seamlessly connect data across channels, devices, applications and between partners.  With Acxiom’s 40 year reputation for privacy and trust, we focused initially on helping F500 and enterprise brands to collaborate with social media platforms and large media companies.  The product was so successful it grew to $30m ARR in its first year.  

Along the way, we met an innovative start-up called LiveRamp which had been building something similar, but focused on the programmatic media space.  The team at LiveRamp was truly special - they had a strong culture, they moved super fast and they saw the same opportunity that we did.  Together - we knew that the combination would create the world’s strongest data connectivity network, and that everyone using the network would massively benefit by having safe and seamless connectivity to each other.  The rest is history.

Over the years, our data network has grown exponentially.  We innovated with Safe Haven and ATS.  We've made strategic acquisitions to enhance our capabilities and expand our reach globally. This includes the addition of Arbor and Circulate to scale our Web and mobile presence, Pacific Data for B2B enablement, DataPlusMath to integrate TV and enhance measurement capabilities, Diablo for and Rakam for cloud native 1P identity and segmentation, and DataFleets and Habu to pioneer a new network for data collaboration.  However, LiveRamp was our transformational first-step. 

Today, as we reflect on this 10-year anniversary, it's clear that our vision for LiveRamp has materialized. LiveRamp has become an integral part of the data infrastructure that underpins the advertising and marketing industries. This achievement is not just a testament to the foresight of the Acxiom and LiveRamp teams but also to the dedication and innovation of the leaders and employees who have been part of this journey.

I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of this remarkable journey. From the original Acxiom team who believed in the vision, to the original and current LiveRamp teams— many of whom have invested a decade or more of their lives building LiveRamp from a $20M start-up to a $700M+ industry leader.  Together, we have created something extraordinary, and I am immensely proud to celebrate this achievement with all of you.

Here's to continuing our journey of innovation and success in the years to come!
