Conquering the Pinnacle: Graduating with an MEM degree from Duke University! I am thrilled to announce the culmination of an intellectually exhilarating journey: I have graduated and earned a Duke University Master of Engineering Management degree with Summa cum Laude honors. Duke University has provided me an unparalleled crucible for honing my leadership and management acumen. The journey at Duke has been prodigious with an ocean of opportunities to learn and grasp from. A journey where professors became friends and friends turned into family! In my opinion, this journey wasn't just rigorous coursework and acclaimed professors; it was an odyssey of profound personal and professional transformation. Also, this journey brought to my attention some spectacular stuff I had never set my eyes on before. Each challenge that I had the opportunity to encounter was a springboard for critical thinking; each professor - a mentor igniting new intellectual fires, and every classmate - a comrade forging bonds of intellectual collaboration that transcended the classroom. Duke instilled in me an insatiable thirst for knowledge, an unwavering commitment to excellence, and the resolute conviction to "Strive for Perfection, yet Settle for Excellence." Apart from the multifarious learnings ingrained at Duke, there's one that serves as the cornerstone of my thinking when approaching complex problems - dissecting problems with laser-sharp focus helps in recognizing solutions nestled within their very complexities. It's the power of perspective, I realized eventually, that unlocks a transformative insight. Which is why, I quote myself and, say "The solution of the problem lies in the problem itself; finding which won't be arduous, provided one has a pertinent perspective TOWARDS, and an apposite perception OF, The Problem!" This exciting chapter now closes with a heart brimming with gratitude and a mind ablaze with anticipation, concomitantly opening new doors of outstanding opportunities. I, now, stand poised and ready to enter the professional arena, armed with the Duke imprimatur - a testament to dedication, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of mastery! So, let the next chapter begin! I'm eager to further expand my network by connecting with fellow & brilliant alums, distinguished industry leaders, and like-minded professionals who wish to collaborate, innovate, and push the boundaries of excellence to receive (and, in-turn, offer the world) the best we can. I am excited to jump into a new role, effective immediately! #DukeMEM #EngineeringManagement #Leadership #Innovation #opentowork

I wrote a bit about the challenges we as educators are facing with the increasing use of #GenAI by #students in #HE as I reflected (and continue to do so) on the potential consequences of this use for the development of our students, for our role as educators, and more broadly, for the role of universities and HE degrees. If you're interested in the topic, do check out the first issue of our Scholarship Matters publication, and get in touch. #SoTL #ScholarshipMatters
Our new Centre for Scholarship and Innovation in Management Education has launched its first journal! Purpose-driven Management I Chair SIG Strategic Management EURAM I Researcher & Lecturer I Expert of the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse) I Advisor and Board Member
Are we teaching the right skills? From primary school our students are trimmed to follow a tight structure, to gain efficiency and pragmatism in pursuing best grading and to search for the optimal solution that at the end secures again … the best grading. All good so far. In the uncertain, noisy and crisis-prone world today any structure changes fast and outcomes are unknown. We need a new direction: teach the skill of contextual behavioural change or being ambidextrous – from compliance to divergence, from efficiency to effectiveness and from one optimal to many possible solutions, most of them destined to fail. And to learn to fail right (great new book by Amy Edmondson with insights for education). This and many more skills have been taught and developed during the pilot collaboration (GEDI) between the Center of Design Research at Stanford University , #MScInternationalBusiness at ZHAW School of Management and Law and Johnson & Johnson. Our work continues… The following article captures the spirit of the collaboration: https://lnkd.in/eREy2PgB. At the end of every semester, professors at Columbia Business School receive course reviews from their students. I had the privilege of teaching Think Bigger to three different MBA cohorts, and here are some student testimonials: - “A must-take course before graduating from Columbia. A course that will have great impacts on your creative mind. The Think Bigger method is a magical tool you will always find handy in the future. Overall, be prepared to get amazed by every lecture.” - “[This is] one of the most impactful courses because every lecture about the Think Bigger Method allowed me to view the world in a different lens.” - “The Choice Map is a powerful tool that allowed me to transform from an average minded person to a creative one. I believe the Choice Map can be adopted in different settings just beyond the idea generations of new concepts.” - “The lectures were awesome. I love this new creative method of ideating.” I’m very much looking forward to teaching this course again. I also want to give a shoutout to my Innovation Fellows – without you, the course wouldn’t be what it is today.

M. Eng. Media Technology & Management with a focus on Change Management & Leadership | Photo- & Videography
Looking forward to new challenges 🚀 I'm excited to announce that I have successfully completed my Bachelor of Engineering! My Bachelor's thesis, titled "Implementing Change: Success factors and challenges - How change becomes an opportunity", explored the intriguing question of why 70% of all change processes fail. 🤔 The journey doesn't end here. I've embarked on a new adventure by starting my Master of Engineering in Media Technology & Management. 📚 Fun Fact: Did you know that the word "engineer" is derived from the Latin word "ingenium", meaning "cleverness"? Let's continue to develop clever solutions and embrace change as an opportunity! 💡 #NextChapter #hochschulemünchen #BEng #MEng #changemanagement #businesstransformation
