How to fundraise like Jane in 3 easy steps: 1. Create a fundraising page with questionable language, and post it on your LinkedIn profile. 2. FORGET COMPLETELY that you created a fundraising page and posted it on your LinkedIn profile. 3. Receive a reminder email 10 days later to send thank you notes to the donors who've gotten you HALFWAY TO YOUR GOAL already!!! One of the reasons I'm an AssAilant is to support caregivers like my sis-in-love, Jaime. Being a young widow is only romantic in the movies. In real life, caring for someone you love who has terminal cancer takes super-human strength. Mourning the death of an envisioned life together while staying hopeful for a semi-known future requires some emotional gymnastics that they don't teach you in P.E. class. I am raising money to help future "happily ever afters" last longer and with more happiness. 🏃Help me Reach My Running Goal and Support a Cause!🏃 Some of you know that last December, I embarked on a journey to become fitter through running, and it has become a passion for me. In just over three weeks [Edit: It's just over 7 weeks, not 3 - I can't read calendars], I'll be running the 10km course at the Sydney Marathon, aiming to achieve a personal goal: completing a 10km race in under 50 minutes. My best official time so far has been 54:20 (set at Runaway Sydney in May), but I'm working hard to knock those last few minutes off my time. Here's where I need your help. I'm currently only about 40% confident that I'll reach my goal. To motivate myself even further, I decided to make this race more meaningful by raising money for the Children's Cancer Institute. I don't have a firm fundraising target yet, but I've created a fundraising page knowing that every little bit helps. Be the first to donate, and you will boost my confidence to 50%! 13 years ago, I found myself at the starting line of the Great North Run As a powerlifter (at the time), the idea of running a half marathon seemed like an insurmountable challenge. I was given two weeks notice. Why did I take it on? I was on a mission to raise donations for my local cancer charity, and the determination to complete the race fueled my every step. The crowd on the bylines, cheering and urging me forward, added an extra layer of motivation. In the end, two key factors got me across the finish line (albeit a little chafed and sore). Knowing My Why and becoming emotionally attached to it. and Encouragement from the crowd willing me to succeed. This experience taught me valuable lessons: With the right mindset and a supportive network, achieving the seemingly impossible becomes feasible. For anyone with ambitions, consider these two crucial questions: What Is My Why? Do I Have the Right Support Network? #messageme #MindsetMatters #AchieveTheImpossible

Together we have raised: 🚴♂️ $236 for American Heart Association's 100 Mile Bike Challenge - Achieving 131% of the Fundraising Goal 🏊♂️ $200 for American Cancer Society's 10 Mile Swim Challenge - Achieving 110% of the Fundraising Goal I always like to overdeliver on client projects by smashing the paid-media result benchmarks, but this time the round of applause does not go to the Advocaczi team, the recognition goes to all of you for helping me spread awareness and putting your hard dollars to work for an incredible cause! As promised (and requested by many) from the start, I will be sharing my Endurance Challenge pacing ever week, and so far my stats are as follows: - Cycled 74.96 Miles as of June 17th so I've reached ~75% of the target in 56% of the Month, it's going great! - Swam 2 Miles as of June 17th so I've reached ~20% of the target in 56% of the Month, it's going not so great! Before everyone gets on me for the 10 Mile Swim challenge, Miami had rough storms all of last week, which limited me from getting in the water - but I promise I will reach the 10 Miles by the end of the Month ... and if anybody needs me, I'll be in the water catching up on my swim miles! PS.
