France and Europe need to seize the opportunities in AI and cybersecurity. Following #VivaTech 2024 – the best one yet – I felt compelled to share some of the takeaways from my conversations in Paris. My latest “Chambers with a View” column in The Innovator with Jennifer Schenker dives into how France is driving the continent’s tech growth, much of which is credited to their strong AI focus. That said, Europe is still behind the U.S. and other countries when it comes to technology and innovation. Thanks John Chambers rather current times it's the AI wrapper that there can't be any cyber security solutions without AI engine which means European market to catch up can think innovating AI & Cyber together - very few orgsnaitons building secure govern and regulated AI.. the race is ON build AI stack and then think to secure billions of parameters of LLM's and data exchange where privacy is also to be looked at without bias. In nutshell , huge room of Cyber industry sitting on AI platform as the next wave for solutions and startups.
I hope the next French leader will consult you John.. they’re moving to a place where other things get priorities than innovation and startups I hope they don’t slow down. Germany has almost destroyed their innovation capabilities with the crisis they’re facing internally If France succumbs to the far right policies they will destroy what started to give results after many years of care..

2wFrom your article. France needs to keep driving AI growth and the rest of Europe can’t afford to fall further behind. In Q1 of this year, only 12% of Europe’s startup investment dollars went to AI. Knowing you either disrupt or get disrupted, that figure is concerning. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the number was 38% (and I am honestly surprised it wasn’t higher).
