Most of my colleagues and friends know that I'm a big fan of the IAB Tech Lab's #Open #Measurement #Framework and its related #SDKs, as it provides a standardised, uniform #interface that enables #thirdparty #vendors to measure many aspects of online campaigns, most noticable #video #viewability. Although the Framework does exist for a long time and many vendors, #videoplayers and #platforms have come up with their own OM SDKs - smartclip, Seven. One Entertainment Group, Google, JWP (JW Player), Brightcove, Bitmovin to name a few - this is not a guarantee for measurement to function, even if they meet the technichal requirements. It's the IAB Tech Lab's #compliance #certification #process that makes the underlying magick work, as - without prior approval by the industry body - some vendors will not deem impressions coming via the respective SDKs as "qualified for measurement", thus preventing i.a. video viewability results from showing up in the vendors' #dashboards. As an example - Moat / Oracle states clearly in its blog post (https://lnkd.in/ezd2TWHm) that „If an integration partner has not gone through Moat™s vetting process or IAB Tech Lab certification, traffic measured via the OM SDK will be considered unmeasurable for viewability and all viewability-related metrics will be recorded as zero.” As an advice - when chosing an OM SDK for #implementation to enable thirdparty measurement, better check first if your vendor has a compliance certification - freely accessible via https://lnkd.in/e9hErJkg - if not, you might not be able to get the result you were looking for 😇
