This is technically the right approach but converging software factories on to a single DevSecOps platform for programs that are in mature development and fielding is going to be a lot of retrofitting that is not trivial. An open standards and open architecture approach for interoperability is probably the best bet, but standardize on a common platform all new programs moving forward. Great to see CYBERCOM starting to take their acquisition authorities to the next phase. Our adversaries are not constrained by their acquisition bureaucracies.

This is concerning news but fully expected. Now is the time for commercial space companies to support the military with greater LEO and MEO resiliency. Our commanders need realtime information and collaboration tools for decision dominance and the network has quickly become the warfighting platform. There are some great lessons here for the DoD for how to partner with both traditional defense contractors but also so many of the new up coming defense tech startups in this space. https://lnkd.in/eGEcjJ4E

Finally! Of all of the ATO reciprocity issues in the DOD this is probably the easiest to implement. Cloud vendors already go through extensive certifications and third party audits and it never made any sense for each service to issue their own ATO on top of Fedramp and DISA PA Impact Levels. Addressing ATO reciprocity for tactical systems on warfighting networks is however the holy grail for CJADC2 and a lot more work is needed on risk sharing and accountability there. https://lnkd.in/eE6sUEvp
