Finally, The Wait is Over!
Meta has started rolling out legs to player avatars in Quest Home - in a new beta announced last week through the Meta Community forums, as reported by UploadVR. Currently, the VR version of Horizon Worlds does not feature legs, yet those testing the mobile and web versions may notice them.
Adding the most requested feature on the roadmap is a major milestone for Meta’s VR platform, as it will make avatars more realistic and immersive. It will also make it easier for users to interact with each other in VR, as they will be able to see each other's full bodies. Feel more connected with others through lifelike gestures and movements. For example, users will now be able to sit down, go for a walk, dance, jump up and down in Virtual Reality.
Excited to see how avatar legs will be used in VR. What are you looking forward to doing with them?

9moIf I may ask, how do you think is this going to affect the thought/imagination process of a person over a prolonged period of time ? Both young and old alike. I am curious to know if it will dissociate a person from registering memories and comprehending reality as it is. We are creatures of visual and verbal memories. If that stimulus is morphed by digital reality, will we still be able to judge the difference and connect the dots as we normally do. I understand it is still in the nascent stages to be able to predict/analyze the after effects, but somehow it feels like getting lost in virtual reality is a very real possibility especially for a species like us that tend not to have control when limits are crossed. Please do let me know your thoughts on this. My Sincere Gratitude.
