Gerhart is looking for Industrial Instrumentation Technicians to join our field service teams. PA, NJ, NY, DE, and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely at customer sites completing calibrations, installations, and repairs of instrumentation and control equipment such as Pressure Transmitters, Temperature Transmitters, Flow Meters, Level Transmitters and their associated devices in process plants and manufacturing plants.
  • Carry out assigned tasks working independently or with a team of field service professionals and engineers. This position receives work assignments from and reports to the area service manager.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation and controls that are not operational or not performing as expected.
  • Work with our team to recommend changes to existing instrumentation and controls helping our customers optimize and improve the reliability and accuracy of their processes.
  • Document all work performed using Gerhart provided tablet and phone-app based software packages.
  • Our work will always require the use of proper PPE for the task at hand and will occasionally require following LOTO procedures and operation of manlifts.
  • There are occasions where we need to respond to emergency repair requests outside normal working hours and you may eventually become part of our rotating on-call schedule to support that.

Qualifications:

  • Good communication and proven customer relations skills.
  • Good general knowledge of mechanical and electronic devices.
  • Previous relatable instrumentation experience.
  • Able to read and understand device installation and operation manuals.
  • Able to interpret, install, and troubleshoot instrumentation and controls in accordance with basic PID and electrical schematics.
  • Able to use various test equipment, measuring devices, hand tools, power tools, and gauges associated with working on industrial instrumentation in the field.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for your state of residence.
  • Physically able to bend, crawl, and lift 50 lb in a safe manner.
  • Must be computer literate with basic skills in Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, e-mail and Internet use.

Additional skills and qualifications of value if you have them!

  • Able to obtain a TWIC Card
  • Familiar with running conduit and wire
  • Knowledge of PLC/SCADA/HMI/Programmable Controls and Relay Logic.
  • Project Leadership Skills
  • Ability to travel overnight.
