As the Inbound Logistics Manager at Harbinger Motors, you will lead our efforts in managing the strategy, cost, and efficiency of inbound logistics operations crucial for the production of our electric medium-duty truck chassis. You will be responsible for developing and managing the logistics provider supply base, optimizing shipping lanes & methods, and ensuring seamless flow of components from global suppliers to our manufacturing facilities.
What You'll Do
Develop and execute a comprehensive inbound logistics strategy to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines of raw materials, components, and parts essential for vehicle assembly.
Collaborate closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, establish performance metrics, and ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.
Manage inbound transportation, while supporting warehousing, and inventory control processes to streamline operations and minimize lead times.
Utilize data analytics and logistics software systems to monitor performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead cross-functional teams to resolve logistics issues, coordinate with production planning, procurement, and quality assurance departments to ensure smooth material flow.
Implement best practices in inventory management, demand forecasting, and supplier relationship management to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to transportation, import/export regulations, and environmental sustainability.
Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in inbound logistics management within the automotive, manufacturing, or related industries, with a proven track record of success in optimizing supply chain operations.
Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles, including transportation management, inventory control, and procurement processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and executive management.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a high-performing logistics team.
