GBS
The Head of GBS Solutions is responsible for the development and execution of solutions including Digital, Reporting, Voice of the Customer, Strategic Partnerships, Benefits Technology, and Correspondence. This role supports all GBS product lines – Absence, Disability, Life, AD&D, and Supplemental Benefits and leads the advancement of capabilities for inforce GBS clients and in support of new business growth targets.
The Head of GBS Solutions manages key business decisions tied to the solutions portfolio, working in partnership with Product, IT, Distribution, and Operations to bring the solution to life, and ensuring the portfolio of solutions is meeting internal and external requirements.
The ideal candidate is a futurist but can map out and deliver short term wins, strategic but can get into the weeds, is able to partner, influence, and listen and has strong experience working in a matrix environment delivering optimal outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
Salary range: $137,500-$237,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No

Core Responsibilities:
- Owns the development of the vision and strategy for the GBS Solutions organization (Digital, Reporting, Strategic Partnerships, Voice of the Customer, Benefits Technology, and Correspondence.)
- Leads and mentors a team of both direct and indirect reports as well as matrix partners in the design, development, and delivery of new solutions to be built internally or via vendor partners.
- Prioritizes investments based on value, stakeholder need, and capacity.
- Responsible for understanding client and customer needs, understanding the market, and keeping up with industry/competitor trends; incorporates findings into strategy and roadmap.
- Owns the execution of roadmap deliverables; ensures new solutions are delivered on time and budget.
- Accountable for Solutions budget, inclusive of internal and vendor spend; evaluates spend for value and adjust maximize.
- Responsible for ensuring solutions are meeting the business and market needs as originally defined and producing metrics that validate the value.
- Drives key business decisions regarding execution and roll out plans engaging key leaders and SME’s as needed.
- Responsible for making business cases, seeking organizational buy-in and securing funding for key initiatives.
- Work with key stakeholders to reach an optimum outcome, ensuring strong communication to all internal and external stakeholders, monitor progress against goals, and timely escalation and mitigation of barriers to success.
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10+ years of insurance work experience.
- Demonstrated strong relationship building and team integration skills; experience driving change management in large, matrix organization.
- Future mindset but willingness to jump in, own work, and make meaningful short-term progress.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to be innovative.
- Proven ability to drive results in uncertain and/or ambiguous environments.
- Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas.
- Proven experiences mapping out the client and customer journey, identifying gaps in the experience, and delivering initiatives to improve on the current state.
- Established ability to leverage marketplace knowledge and experience to consult, make prioritization, and trade off decisions, and make recommendations to senior leadership.
