Controller

LHH is supporting an international law firm, known for their commitment to excellence in legal services, and its reputation for handling complex legal matters, to identify a talented Controller to join their finance team.

Responsibilities:

As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the firm's finance department, overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Leading the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Providing strategic financial guidance to senior management and partnership.
• Developing and monitoring internal controls.
• Supervising and mentoring a team of accounting professionals.
• Collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Implementing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
• Overseeing cash forecasting, cash position, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity management and financial risk assessment.

Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a Controller or similar role, preferably within professional services or legal industry.
• Prior public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with treasury functions including cash management, cash forecasting, and banking relationships is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
