Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Auditor or Informatics Consultant to review our Bone Marrow and Solid Organ Transplant Epic build. The consultant will provide expert recommendations on documentation practices and the utilization of Epic to enhance data accuracy, particularly in meeting the data requirements for the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). Ideally, the candidate will be Phoenix-certified for Epic and have clinical experience, preferably as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the current Bone Marrow and Solid Organ Transplant Epic build.
- Analyze existing documentation practices and data entry workflows.
- Provide recommendations on best practices for documenting and using Epic to maximize data accuracy.
- Ensure that data collection and reporting meet CIBMTR requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to understand current challenges and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize Epic utilization for transplant-related data, with a focus on Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).
- Train staff on new documentation and data entry processes as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, Nursing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Phoenix certification for Epic is required.
- Proven experience in auditing or consulting within healthcare informatics.
- In-depth knowledge of Epic systems, particularly in relation to transplant services.
- Clinical background, preferably as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Solid Organ Transplantation consulting/support.
- Previous work experience with healthcare accreditation and compliance.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
