Since 1989 Advanced Fire Protection Services has offered all elements of fire protection, fire prevention and security services. We call it Total Life Safety Services. Whether it be fire system inspection and service or new construction fire protection contracting, AFPS is Northwest Florida’s leading provider of life safety services. We are licensed and insured and our technicians are trained to keep your commercial or residential property safe and secure. Our offices in Fort Walton Beach, Panama City Beach and Tallahassee provide emergency services 24 hours a day 7 days a week ensuring prompt and efficient response to our customers’ needs.

 

We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Chief Operations Officer to join our team. As the COO, you will play a critical role in overseeing our day-to-day operations and driving our business forward.


  • Collaborate with the President to develop and execute the company's strategy, vision, and mission. 
  • Plan, manage and direct the operations of our Service and Construction divisions.
  • Manage relations between Service Operations, Sales, & Construction to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Create workforce development strategies to prepare for future staffing needs.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure they meet performance expectations and are delivering against key business metrics. 
  • Develop and improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures to ensure excellent client service.
  • Promote innovation and the adoption of new technologies to improve operational processes and enhance competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and legal requirements, while mitigating operational risks.


Required skills and qualifications


  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive high performance across diverse teams
  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles in the fire protection industry or other mechanical or electrical trade
  • Five or more years of multi-million-dollar P&L management accountability
  • Five or more years of multisite field operations leadership
  •  Strong ability to adapt to changing circumstances and develop solutions to new and unique problems/challenges
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
  • Proactive mindset

 

This position includes a base salary with additional incentive pay.
