Admission Administrative Assistant

The admission administration assistant is a key member of the admission team with the goal of creating a welcoming and unparalleled campus engagement experience. This individual will also provide support to the AVP of admission and others at LR with the objective of recruiting students and establishing LR as an institution of choice for prospective students.

The admission administration assistant will often be the first person a visitor engages with at LR, therefore professionalism, graciousness and high energy are critical.

  • Greeting and interacting with visitors to Lenoir-Rhyne University.
  • Providing excellent customer service by answering questions via phone, email and in person.
  • Assisting with appointments for prospective students with faculty, athletic staff and other campus partners.
  • Updating information in the admission CRM.
  • Scheduling meetings for the AVP of admission and other admission team members.
  • Assisting the AVP of admission as necessary with various projects and requests, including updating policies and procedures and managing the admission budgets.
  • Performing other typical office work including electronic file management, scanning, and attaching documents, copying, etc.
  • Assisting with other functions of the Office of Admission as needed.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with heightened attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving/conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma required, associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience with Slate or other student information systems is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge about LR, its faculty and its student population is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Requires lifting and transporting up to 40 pounds.

Work Schedule

  • Standard office hours M-TH 8:30a -2:30p, subject to change based on LR needs.
