I am currently sitting on a train away from Malmö with a heavy heart. Yesterday was a sad day for all the frogs at Frogsong Studios as we gave all our 14 employees notice for termination, including the owners. After losing a studio-wide consultant contract last year it has been really rough finding a new project that would house all the frogs. While we did find a few short-term contracts that helped us to scrap by a bit longer, it was not enough to keep the lights on without cutting our workforce dramatically to a point where we would lose too much of what our studio has been all about: people! I am proud to say that April 9 marks the 10th year anniversary of our studio and it's no small feat to have stuck around for so long. I’ve had the honor to work with so many talented and kind-hearted individuals. While the future of the studio remains unclear, we still have a few possibilities to recover, but it undoubtedly looks like we will shut our doors at the beginning of May. The day we decide to fully bury the Frog is not here yet and when time is due there’s so many people I want to thank for their collabs, support and care for us. But for the time being I want to thank my co-founders Anders Thelin, Mattias Lindblad, Jonathan Gard, Kristoffer O., our Studio Manager My Nilsson, our Producer Nicole Wiberg, our finance consultants Simon Gärtner, Erik Hultén and all of you fantastic frog devs: Andreas Broqvist, Patrik Antonescu, Gabriel von Gertten, Amanda Fröjdö, Markus Norén, Disa Persson, Jonas K. and Gustav Wall - you are all amazing! 💚 🐸 Nicole Wiberg without you I am 100% sure we would have tapped out already - thank you so much for supporting me and more importantly the team in this dark times. It surely is draining to go through something like this, but the thing is that when I work with care for people as a part of my core, I feel I have almost infinite energy to do things the way I deem right. This is hard but I do not feel defeated, you never know what’s around the corner! If you have any projects that need support we still have the opportunity to re-hire, but the time is now!
