⭐️ Reflecting on an incredible week at Destinations International's Annual Convention in Tampa! Our team at Visit Baltimore gathered with industry leaders and peers to participate, share and learn in a series of engaging sessions, inspiring panels and networking to foster connections. We were thrilled to celebrate Maggie Carter, VB’s creative marketing manager, who was part of the DI 30 Under 30 Class of 2024. 🎉 Keep reading to learn more about her experience. “What an exciting and insightful week! DI’s Annual Convention was an amazing opportunity to meet and learn from industry leaders and the next generation of rising stars across our industry and throughout the world. I participated in sessions and activations including “Embracing Accessible and Inclusive Tourism,” “Psychology & Economics for Destination Organizations” and “The Art of Speaking, Actually Speaking, Advocacy.” In these breakout sessions and my conversations throughout the week, I gained valuable insights about the future of tourism, how to advocate for your destination with passion and the shift from destination marketing to community stewardship. It was an honor to represent Visit Baltimore and share our initiatives with a global audience. I'm excited to bring back fresh ideas and perspectives to continue driving the future of tourism forward!”

On this day in 1908, Thurgood Marshall was born here in Baltimore. One of the city’s most famous figures, Thurgood Marshall was an American lawyer and civil rights activist who would later become the first African American Supreme Court Justice. Today also marks the 60th Anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a landmark piece of history prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin. 🔗 Join us in celebrating Maryland’s Year of Civil Rights and explore a guide to Baltimore’s African American history and culture: https://lnkd.in/eWJ3WXxk 📍Statue honoring Thurgood Marshall at the U.S. Courthouse in @downtownbaltimore.
