Our team partnered with the Office of Child Care (OCC) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and used human-centered design to create a user-friendly guide for child care assistance applications. Our team collaborated with the Federal Communications Commission to close the digital divide by bringing the internet to 23 million underserved households. Using human-centered design, we created and implemented a simplified application and enrollment process for the Affordable Connectivity Program, driving a 130% increase in enrollment. Our team collaborated with the Federal Customer Experience team at the Office of Management and Budget, partners at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS, and six community-based organizations in HRSA's Healthy Start program to pilot a new service for moms: the Alumni Peer Navigator (APN).    Initially focusing on simplifying benefits enrollment for new families, the pilot revealed two additional benefits - creating flexible career pathways for Healthy Start program graduates and building capacity for community health workers. In 2021, The White House initiated a program to distribute free at-home COVID-19 tests to every U.S. household in response to a highly contagious disease variant. Our team quickly partnered with the United States Postal Service and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)'s Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to launch COVID.gov/tests. This user-friendly platform processed up to 10 million orders per hour and had a robust infrastructure that handled 58 million COVID-19 test kit orders for 749 million U.S. households.
