Our online community comprises over 80,000 people affected by diabetes who can participate in research studies we promote on behalf of our partners. We recruit for all types of research studies, including this study by Indiana University, which was presented a couple of weeks ago at the ADA's Scientific Sessions. This study examined the relationship between diabetes distress and symptoms of autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysregulation in adults with T1D. The findings show a significant relationship between diabetes distress and ANS activation. Interestingly, these results were similar to findings from a previous study in adults with type 2 diabetes, suggesting that there is a fundamental and physiologic relationship between ANS activation and diabetes distress.
