Our trio of "Attentioneers" (name still pending) is nearly together at Develop! 🦋 We can't wait to meet so many of you at our ADHD in Games Lunch happening today at 13:30pm! The event is SO popular that we have a waitlist in place! We ask that if you can't attend, please cancel your ticket via Luma so we can give others a chance to join us. Until then, Finchy's ice cream ban has been lifted. 🍦

🚅 NOW BOARDING: LDNKX ➡️ BTN 🚅 After a restless night, I'm finally coming down to join the Develop:Brighton party! 🎉 You'll be able to find me at the Playing Attention (ADHD in Games) lunch from 13:30, or generally roaming around the expo hall! I'll be happy to talk #Community & Events Management, #Neurodiversity (especially #ADHD & #Autism), the frustrating junior & industry transitioner experience - doesn't have to be all business, we can relax too! Of course obligatory mention that I'm still #OpenToWork for my first paid industry role! Also, I'd LOVE to talk to any content creation people (especially those on Twitch) for potential collaborations! Picture to please the algorithm and so you know what my fit is today! 😅

Today's #resourceoftheday is: 🎓 ADHD Time Distortion by Pina the ADHD Alien! 🎓 People with ADHD can often struggle with planning due to how we experience time in a non-linear way - be that either chasing down dopamine from whatever captures our attention, or being unable to plan ahead of time or have a tangible concept of "the future". This comic by ADHD Alien (who we've highlighted before) is a great visual into the concept and lived experience of ADHD time dilation! An eagle-eyed member of our communtiy noticed an error with Susi & Adam's posts that went earlier up this week. As we all know, Develop happens in JULY not JUNE. We apologise for the mix up on the images. Please reffer to these corrected images as we can not edit & reupload those posts. Also, we will be docking Finchy's rations (one idea being banning them from eating ice cream) until they have learnt to read - again. Thanks again, and see you all next week in Brighton! 🏖

🗳️TODAY IS ELECTION DAY 🗳️ If you're in the UK, this is your reminder that Polling Stations for the General Election are now open until 🚨10:00pm / 22:00 BST🚨 for you to cast your vote! Remember to: 💳 Bring a form of legal ID (examples include your driving licence, passport, or Blue Disability Badge), you will be turned away from your Polling Station if not. ✨ Bring your Poll Card, it will make confirming your details quicker as well as showing you where your Polling Station is, though you don't need it to be able to vote. You MUST go to the Polling Station listed on your card, unless you have already voted by mail or proxy. ❗ Be informed! Don't feel pressured by people outside the Polling Station to change your vote, or give over any personal details (including how you voted/intend to vote) to anyone. While the news cycle has been about promises & hype, it's worth looking into each party's manifesto, as well as their previous voting record on policies you care about from an independent source. Consider voting tactically for your local area if you are able. The UK Government's website on how to vote has all this information and more if you are still uncertain: https://lnkd.in/e7pU7VJ3 📣 The most important thing is: Cast your vote. 📣 It takes less than 10 minutes to have your say in shaping the country - hopefully into a brighter future for all.

Today's #resourceoftheday is: 🎓 Access to Work 🎓 During our "Neurodiversity and How to Make it Work for You" panel, we touched a lot on Access to Work - a government scheme that aims to support people with disabilities find & stay in work. Support can vary in form, but is tailored to an individual's needs - which includes long-term mental health, and neurodivergent conditions like ADHD. You can find more information on the Disability Rights UK website here: https://lnkd.in/ey54nxZY If you are eligible, you can apply for Access to Work here: https://lnkd.in/djAy6tW Thank you again to everyone that turned up to our panel and asked a lot of excellent questions! Today's #resourceoftheday is: 📢 "QAuDHD" by David Jenkins 📢 Sharing the lived experience is important to us as while we all share the label of ADHD, it affects everyone differently. We hope in sharing a variety of these lived experiences, you find someone in the community you can relate to, or you learn a new way to support your friends & colleagues. Enter David Jenkins (DJ to us), former Head of QA at Roll7 and ED&I advocate. His newsletter - "QAuDHD" - is a weekly digest of his lived experience with combined Autism & ADHD (AuDHD), as well as some tips for people within the QA space looking to progress their careers! We highly recommend the read, alternatively David has gone the extra mile for accessibility by providing an audio version of each newsletter as a mini one-person podcast! 📙 If you'd like to read, check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eQvd7eNJ 🔊 If you prefer the audio version, visit: https://lnkd.in/ewyxuSaB Thanks to David for allowing us to share his experience with you!
